Counting Down by Fiona Davies Exhibition Opening is opening today at 2pm.

In its former life, the station was a place defined by movement and anticipation. Trains arrived and departed, passengers came and went, parcels were received and dispatched, and time was measured by timetables and train movements. In the station’s busy working life, there was always a sense of counting down - until the train arrived, until departure, until the next movement.

It is within this historic setting that Dr Fiona Davies presents Counting Down, an exhibition bringing together photography, painting and installation in what was most likely once the station’s parcels office.

Davies takes the idea of counting down and moves it beyond the railway station, exploring another public institution where time, anticipation and uncertainty can take on a very different meaning: the hospital.

Here, the countdown can be deeply personal.

🎨 OPENING THIS SUNDAY | COUNTING DOWN

The countdown is almost over! ⏳

This Sunday, Cowra Micro Gallery will open Counting Down, a new exhibition by Dr Fiona Davies, presented inside the historic Cowra Railway Station.

Bringing together photography, painting and installation, Counting Down explores the experience of waiting - the anticipation, uncertainty and emotions that can make time feel like it is moving differently.

Set within the station’s former parcels office, the exhibition creates a fascinating connection between the building’s history of timetables, arrivals and departures and Davies’ exploration of another place where we find ourselves waiting: the hospital.

✨ Join us for the exhibition opening at 2pm this Sunday, August 30.

Presented in the station’s former parcels office, the exhibition brings together photography, painting and installation, connecting the history of a place once defined by arrivals, departures and timetables with the very different experience of waiting in a hospital.

From waiting for an appointment or a test result to the moments before a procedure, Davies invites us to consider how time can feel different when we are waiting for something that matters.

We are pleased to present Wayfaring With Marks & Spaces, a new exhibition by A. Wayne Miles exploring the expressive possibilities of colour, gesture, and mark-making, and the dynamic relationship between abstraction and the built environment.

Through layered compositions and intuitive processes, Miles invites viewers to journey through imagined landscapes where structure and spontaneity coexist. The works reflect an ongoing dialogue between architectural forms, memory, and the physical act of painting, creating spaces that are both familiar and open to interpretation.
