The Collie Art Gallery will be a cultural centre that provides opportunities the Collie community and visitors to enjoy, participate in and learn from the arts. This will be achieved by providing greater balance and diversity in the provision of creative and cultural activities for regional and community members by increasing access to, interest and participation in the arts. The gallery will provide a high quality visitor attraction of a national standard, drawing new people to the region and showcasing a broad range of talent and achievement. It will create an environment that enables the development of innovative and talented individuals and groups through a range of programs and events.

What ethnic, cultural, or social background are you coming from? What does define your identity? Many of us came from another part of the world to enjoy life in Australia. Everyone's unique experience is a story in itself, sometimes best told through visual imagery.
If you are an artist, don't forget to enter Collie Art Prize 2027, your chance to tell your (or someone else's) unique story through art and be one of our finalists. Create an artwork around the theme of "Identity" and enter CAP27 https://www.collieartgallery.org.au/art-prize-2027/
You will then have a much larger audience should your entry get selected as a finalist. You may win the Collie Art Prize or any of the prize packages that bring you recognition at a national level.

CLEAR THE CANVAS!

Entries for Collie Art Prize 2027 are open! Since opening on 5 October, the competition has already attracted interest, with artists beginning to submit their entries for this exciting celebration of artistic talent and creativity.

Artists across Australia are invited to take part and showcase their work in this event, which brings together artists and art lovers to celebrate creativity and the visual arts.

Whether you are an established artist or an emerging talent, this is your opportunity to display your work in a regional, A-Class gallery and be part of Collie Art Prize 2027.

Entries close on 11 December 2026, so don’t miss the chance to enter. Start preparing your artwork and submit your entry before the closing date!

MEET OUR SPONSOR - COAL MINERS' WELFARE BOARD OF WA

In addition to its primary purpose of improving the physical, educational, cultural and social wellbeing, and living conditions of coal miners, the Coal Miners' Welfare Board of WA supports various community programs, among them Collie Art Prize. MEET OUR SPONSOR - SYNERGY
Our generous sponsor, Synergy, has come to the party again to support the Collie Art Prize 2027. Synergy’s funding of Kid-Entity gives young locals an opportunity to enter the youth section of an art competition that has built up a reputation across the country since 2018. The art competition has inspired young students to create artworks that somehow address the exhibition theme - Identity. Five local schools are participating in the 2027 Kid-Entity, entering a total of 800 artworks. The participating schools include, Amaroo Primary School, St. Brigids, Allanson Primary School, Fairview, and CSHS. Two judges will judge the entries and select 24 finalist works to be displayed in the Studio Gallery along with the CAP27 finalists in February 2027. A big thank-you to Synergy for their continued support.
