On Wednesday the 25th March, we heard the fascinating background story of Charles Wightman Sievwright thanks to his descendant, Bruce Bennett, regarding his time in the 1830's to 1840's as Aboriginal Protector in Western Victoria.

Hope to see you there!

Hi all,

As we come to the close of 2025, it’s hard to believe just how quickly this year has flown by. It feels like only yesterday we were welcoming it, and now here we are, reflecting on everything that has unfolded over the past twelve months.

This time of year gives us a chance to pause, look back, and express our sincere appreciation. To all our members and friends, thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and commitment throughout the year. Your assistance—whether given generously behind the scenes or visibly through active involvement—has made a meaningful difference and helped us achieve so much together.

We are truly grateful for the sense of community, collaboration, and friendship that has carried us through 2025. It is because of you that we move forward with confidence and optimism.

As the festive season approaches, we wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday filled with peace, warmth, and happiness. May the new year bring renewed energy, good health, and exciting opportunities for us all.

Season’s greetings, and thank you once again for being such an important part of our journey.

We look forward to continuing our History Adventures in 2026!

Note: History Centre Colac closes today @ 4pm and will reopen on Thursday, January 15th, 2026

Cheers,
