Special Event | Conversation Piece with Kate Just
Saturday 20 June 11:30am — 1:00pm

We love our volunteers!

This place thrives because of the people who show up and give their time towards a common goal of sharing art with the community. The people who help out at workshops, run fundraising events, welcome visitors, give insight to the artworks and the history, guidance in operations, documenting the shows and living their passion.

From CAM to all of you, this week and always, we are so grateful.

📯Coming up at CAM Friday May 22

Screening event | Ivor Cantrill: Paint on Film

Ivor Cantrill has a multidisciplinary practice that spans painting, drawing, ceramic sculpture, and textiles. This night is dedicated to his works on film. Ivor's parents, legendary experimental filmmakers Corinne and Arthur Cantrill, included Ivor in their films, filmed him painting, and encouraged him to paint directly on film, and to use animation techniques such as rotoscoping.

This screening of short films features Ivor as a young boy in his parent's four minute black-and-white film Home Movie (1969); Ivor paints directly onto the film in the 11 minute abstraction Film of circles, squares, triangles, lines and dots (1981); he rotoscopes a sequence of himself as a teenager in the legendary 19 minute Myself When Fourteen (1989) which features a fabulous soundtrack by Chris Knowles; and in Ivor Paints Arf Arf, Corinne and Arthur use their famous colour separation technique to film Ivor as he paints a portrait of the experimental performance Arf Arf collective. This five minute film features a sound track by Arf Arf with Ivor guesting on vocals and violin.

Date: Friday May 22

Time: Doors open 5:30pm for 6pm start

Duration: 1 hour

Cost: Tickets are free but bookings are required to secure your space!
