I had a great day in the studio today, cooking up Pepper and Salt. My latest piece honestly came out of nowhere, but is fresh and zesty, and full of life and energy.

My friend said it could also stand for P.S, and she is right. So the general meaning of this art work is: PS! Don't forget to do things your own way.

Happy Sunday my Art Loving Friends!

Showing my new piece up in the lounge room. The sweeps of lilac are iridescent, giving a very bettle-wing shine, and otherworldly feel. Logic would say this painting would not suit my place, yet it blends in well.

Hello Friends,

Firstly a big fat HELLO to new friends of the Waterfall page. You are very welcome here. It's all about my own art evolution. Im not in a hurry, and as such, I'm a sparodic poster, but when I do post, it comes from the heart.

Today I decided I needed a jungle inspired canvas for my loungeroom. The canvas decided otherwise and I have ended up with some 80s album cover or a tribute to Tron. Either way, I'm a slave to the paint and I LET HIM COOK!!

Last weekend I completed the third portrait in the Naked series.
This is Cherie Cager she's been my number one ride or die for ages, so much so that we share the same nickname, SB.
Cherie is a grounded person. Earthed, connected and stable. Her physical movements are deliberate, considered, contained. There is no fancy arm waving and jumping up and down for this one.
Until you meet her eyes..and this is where the dancing starts. Her eyes are fully alive, always moving, lit and bright. Her jokes are found in her eyes, her opinions are found in her eyes, she lives most readily through these eyes. She has very pretty, delicate, and carefully shaped eyes, with lashes that seem to act as exclamation points with each laugh and devious thought

Sam. Full reveal!
Many hours have gone into this piece to make it feel like my subject could flutter off the page at any moment. Such is the multidimensional nature of Sam.
I thought deeply on my approach to displaying nudity on high rotation platforms such as Facebook and Insta, and I came to the conclusion that I view private areas that create life, sacred, and therefore I wanted to protect my subjects from being seen by a random array of eyes. As such, where there may be a p***s or a va**na, you will see a little heart.
No hearts at exhibition time however, where the paintings can be seen in their fullness in an atmosphere of appreciation.
B***s of course are fair game. Cause they're just awesome for everyone.

Sam. Painting two happily complete. My subject here is the multi dimensional Sam. When Sam agreed to sit for her portrait I knew it would be a delight. She is a woman who lives in many places at once. A person who at times seems transparent and even that Earth is not her true home. Often around Sam I get the feeling of her being in two or three places at once.
With her portrait I wanted to convey this transparent feeling so I left he facial features and eyes very loosely defined. You can see her, she is present, yet at the same time she is far away. I love that about Sam, it makes me remember to stay in the spirit as much as possible in this heavy metal world. Thank you Samantha Gibbens Cager for allowing me to paint your portrait. It really was a joy. Very free and easy to bring to life. Love you WB.
