Minnie Pwerle was an Alyawarre/Anmatyerre artist born around 1910 in Utopia, Northern Territory. She began painting in her eighties after decades applying traditional body designs for women's Awelye ceremonies. Her bold, free-flowing works depict ancient ceremonial patterns and Dreaming stories including Bush Melon, translated through confident brushstrokes and vibrant movement. Working entirely from her deep cultural knowledge and ceremonial practice, Minnie became one of Australia's most significant Indigenous artists alongside Emily Kame Kngwarreye. Her prolific output continued until her death in 2006. Her works are held in major collections and galleries worldwide.

140x240cm

Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi is an Anmatyerre artist born at Mt Allan in 1967, eldest daughter of renowned painter Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri. Taught by her father from childhood, she won the Alice Springs Art Prize at sixteen. Her vibrant compositions depict ancestral narratives, particularly the Seven Sisters Dreaming inherited through her maternal line. This story chronicles seven sisters fleeing the predatory Wati-Nyiru across vast country before escaping to the sky as the Pleiades constellation, forever watching over women on earth. Now based in Melbourne, Gabriella's work features in major collections including the National Gallery of Australia.

He returns annually to source his marble from the historic Carrara quarries, the same source Michelangelo used for masterpieces including The David and The Pietà. Based in Melbourne, Cartwright creates abstract forms inspired by nature, viewing his practice as collaboration between artist and material. His work has been exhibited internationally, including Sculpture by the Sea, Art Central Hong Kong, and Australia House London. Yannima Tommy Watson was a distinguished Pitjantjatjara artist born around 1935 near Irrunytju in Western Australia's Gibson Desert. Orphaned young, he learned traditional hunting and gathering practices while developing profound understanding of his ancestral lands. After decades working as a stockman and laborer, Watson began painting at Irrunytju art centre in 2001 at age sixty-six. His vibrant compositions featuring energetic layers of colored dots quickly gained international recognition. In 2006, his work was permanently installed at Paris's Musée du quai Branly. Dorothy Napangardi stood as a pioneering figure in Australian art. Alongside artists like Emily Kngwarreye, she earned international recognition as one of the nation's most significant creative voices in contemporary Indigenous Australian art.

Dorothy began painting in 1987, encouraged by her sister Eunice Napangardi (deceased). She developed a distinctive visual language featuring intricate networks of dotted lines that portrayed her father's traditional lands near Lake McKay.

Her work conveyed ancestral narratives, with lines evoking salt patterns around dried clay pans marked by the paths of women.

Her artistic excellence brought numerous accolades, including the 18th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award in 2001. By 2009, Australian Art Collector magazine named her among the nation's 50 Most Collectable Artists.

Born around 1950, Dorothy's ancestral country was Mina Mina, located approximately 400 kilometers northwest of Alice Springs. She passed away in 2013, leaving behind a remarkable artistic legacy.
