Our Story

THE ARTIST AND THE HISTORIAN PROJECT

A art gallery online and physical that exhibits and sells works that have been generally discarded. Canberra based artist and teacher and gallery owner Margaret Hadfield and historian Dr Kathryn Spurling, have decided to encourage a new appreciation of Australian artists. Works are cleaned,varnished and sometimes a new frame is required or the frame is repaired and sprayed with a petroleum free acrylic made from sugar cane. The works are being rescued and represented for a new audience. Mostly original art is presented also old furniture is made into interesting art forms.
