Flashback Friday:
Leapfrogging was a way of life for children back in the sixties and seventies. This is Evergreen Avenue, Sherwood Hills before it became Bradbury and it’s the spring of 1968. Two boys can be identified, Graham Hague on the left and a Norman Campbell.

Flashback Friday:
Roadworks at the intersection of Moore and Broughton Streets in 1980. Note the absence of traffic lights. The intersection was voted in the top 10 worst intersections in Sydney that year. Moore Street was later widened to form the Moore-Oxley Bypass, and these headstones of the McInnes family would later be relocated to another section of the cemetery.

Flashback Friday:
We were initially surprised seeing this road sign at the corner of Queen Street and Camden Road declaring “31” to Wollongong.
But of course, this was the seventies and the “31” to Wollongong and “34” to Sydney signified miles not kilometres. There’s no definitive date for this Steve Roach photo but kilometres were officially adopted in July 1974. The Sandman panel van parked by Airds cottage is also a major clue, entering production the same year.
