Saltwater Galleryโ€™s inaugural exhibition will be the very first showcase in what promises to be an unforgettable opening season.

Proudly owned and managed by the City of Busselton, Saltwater, is ready to take centre stage as the regionโ€™s premier multiโ€‘purpose venue, providing a contemporary hub for visual and performing arts, culture and a diverse range of events.

From opening day, the art gallery, foyer and box office will be open daily from 10am to 4pm, welcoming audiences to secure their seats for Saltwaterโ€™s opening season ahead of the theatreโ€™s official curtainโ€‘up later in the year.

Saltwater theatreโ€™s debut season will feature theatre productions, comedy, live music, and educational performances. We look forward to announcing shows in May when the box office opens.

Overlooking Geographe Bay on level 2, the conference suite will also be open from 9 May for functions, meetings and special events.

To celebrate the opening, we will throw open the doors on 9 May, offering guided tours throughout the venue including a behind-the-scenes look at how a modern theatre operates, and access to selected backstage areas.

This permanent full-time role will support our Head of Technical Services in delivering the technical and backstage operations at Saltwater. This will involve liaising with clients regarding their technical requirements for events within the venue, including business events, conferencing, theatre shows, community events and art gallery exhibitions.

This position will also perform the role of Duty Manager, over-seeing events and supervising the technical crew operating lighting, sound and staging.

Saltwater Busselton has reached a major milestone with installation of the signature exterior sign, marking completion of the impressive faรงade and setting the stage for the venueโ€™s highly anticipated opening in 2026.

Saltwater continues to take shape rapidly as construction nears completion, with several key milestones recently reached across the venue.

From the striking transformation of the main auditorium to the finishing touches being applied throughout, the project is entering its final stages.

Installation of the stage, theatre seating and acoustic panelling has brought the auditorium to life. Most of the light fittings and speakers have been installed and are ready to power up. Mechanical and hydraulic systems are also nearing completion.

Significant progress has also been made across other areas of the venue.

Timber finishes in the Conference Suite are almost complete, and the sprung floor has been installed in the Rehearsal Room.

Ceiling works throughout the building are close to completion, and key spaces such as the Saltwater Gallery and Conference Suite have received their final coats of paint.

Work on the main staircase, kitchen, and bar is progressing well, with all catering equipment now in place and ready to be tested.

Externally, the building is nearly complete, with just a few glass panels left to be installed this week and some finishing touches underway.

Landscaping in the courtyards and Queen Street is set to commence in the coming weeks, followed by final inspections by the project team in the near future.
