The Carrington Hospitality Group is investing in Bungendore town renewal, one building at a time. The Gallery's exterior gets a fresh coat of paint and varnish. Your patronage of Cafe Woodworks, Carrington Inn, and FLOCK fine restaurant and beer garden help make this happen. With appreciation, Thank You.

The great Art Trail pop-up marketplace at the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery starts at 9am - LAST DAY Sunday 12 Oct. Open until 5pm. Free Admission.

Here are photos from Day 1. Everyone had a fantastic time meeting and speaking with 7 great regional artists and craftsmen covering hand-made woodworking, jewellery, ceramics, furniture, and contemporary and indigenous paintings and lithographs.

There were many happy buyers on Day 1 who took home some lasting handmade treasures and gifts. And, reasonably priced too.

The Art Trail pop-up marketplace at the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery is presented in conjunction with QPRC's Art Trail exhibition that promotes connecting regional artist and local communities for their social, cultural, and economic development. Don't miss it, or you’ll have a year to wait until the next one!

Last Chance to Own These Unique Pieces – As the Gallery winds down, nearly all our works have found homes or returned to their makers. But two exceptional pieces by WA maker Oscar Terrazza remain – and shipping them back west just isn’t feasible.

Oscar has dramatically reduced the prices to help them find a local home. These are available for pick-up only from the Gallery.

Wing Chair – Ply & Jarrah – now $800
Elegant, modern, and finely balanced. The contrast of Ply and Jarrah timbers suits a wide range of interiors.
450 x 500 x 780 mm (Seat height 445 mm)

Cube Illusion End Grain Board – now $700
A beautifully crafted board made from various timbers, finished with Kunos Oil and complete with stand.
385 x 265 x 35 mm

These are one-off works by a talented WA maker who can’t retrieve them – let’s help them find a home.

Tomorrow, Monday 9 June is our last trading day.

We’ve been a little quiet here — a bit too sad to talk about the closing, and a bit too busy. But we want to say a heartfelt thank you.

The support since announcing the closure of Bungendore Wood Works Gallery has been overwhelming and deeply appreciated. Thank you for showing up and supporting the makers and artists. It hasn’t been easy to say goodbye, but it’s been made easier by the support you’ve shown.

So tomorrow, come in if you can — we’d love to see you.

Dear friends, with deep appreciation and a heavy heart, we share the difficult news that Bungendore Wood Works Gallery will be closing in June 2025.

It has been our privilege to showcase the finest in Australian woodcraft and art, bringing beauty into the lives of visitors from across the country and around the world. We are incredibly grateful for the makers, staff, and community who have made this gallery what it is today.

We invite you to visit one last time, experience the gallery’s legacy, and take home a piece of its craftsmanship before we close.

This decision has not been made lightly. After decades at the helm, Artistic Director and founder David Mac Laren OAM is ready for a well-deserved retirement. While he has explored succession options, sustaining a gallery of this scale has become increasingly challenging in today’s economic climate. Despite our best efforts, we have not found a viable path forward.
