We’re rerouting our flight path for the weekend due to unfavourable weather conditions. Unfortunately, this means the planned engine runs will not be taking place at the Beechcraft Baron Launch Open Day on Saturday.

Rest assured, the rest of the fun is still going ahead inside our hangars, where you can stay sheltered from the weather and see the restored Beechcraft Baron in all it's glory!

Have you seen our Tornado?

Officially known as the Panavia Tornado, it was developed by the UK, Germany and Italy as a twin-engine, variable-sweep wing aircraft designed for combat roles including strike, electronic combat and air defence.

First flown in 1974, it later proved its precision in low-altitude strike missions during the 1991 Gulf War. A formidable force of the sky, discover its impressive features at our museum this weekend!

COMING SOON! 🧐

Restoring our newest aircraft, the Beechcraft Baron, took extraordinary patience, persistence and care.

To source vital missing parts, volunteers Brian Jones and Clive Green spent more than 600 hours online, contacted over 50 companies, and reached out to Beechcraft Baron operators across the world.

The result is a restoration that honours both the aircraft’s history and the people who refused to let it disappear. See it up close at our Family Open Day next Saturday 27 June.

What makes a great history excursion?

For the year 8 students of Piara Waters Senior High School, a great history excursion looked like exploring historic aircraft up close, learning about their roles in conflicts from World War I to the present day, stepping aboard the Dakota, examining the F/A-18 Hornet, and even taking part in our popular parachute activity.

The CAC Wirraway was produced by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation from 1939 to 1946. The Wirraway has been credited as being the foundation of Australian aircraft manufacturing.

Developed from the North American NA-16, it helped support Australia’s wartime self-sufficiency and served with the RAAF as a trainer, light bomber and ground attack aircraft.

A small medal. A powerful wartime story.

On 13 June 1944, the first V-1 flying bomb struck London, marking the beginning of a new and frightening chapter in aerial warfare.

Known as “buzz bombs” or “doodlebugs,” V-1s brought the war to civilians from the skies in a way the world had not seen before.

For Aviation Heritage Museum volunteers Brian Jones and Clive Green, restoring the Beechcraft Baron was never just about rebuilding an aircraft.

It was about preserving a physical link to Robin Miller’s legacy. Brian, who has since passed, led the project with great care and determination, working alongside Clive to bring the aircraft back to life for future generations to discover.

Join us on our Open Day on Saturday 27 June, as we honour that legacy and officially launch the restored Baron.
