Welcome Liz and Norm.
We wish you every success .
After 16 wonderful years of owning and operating the iconic Silverton Hotel, Peter and Patsy are pleased to announce that as of next week we have officially leased the hotel to Liz and Norm.
Our journey has been incredibly rewarding, and we are grateful for the many faces we have welcomed through our doors over the years. Caring for a hotel with 142 years of history has been both a privilege and a responsibility. Throughout our time here, our goal was to enhance and grow the hotel while preserving the authentic outback character and rustic charm that makes it so special.
One of our proudest achievements has been the development of the large outdoor area, which continues to serve our guests well, particularly for functions and community events. Twelve years ago, we expanded into accommodation, providing travellers with what we believe are the essentials after a long day in the bush — a comfortable bed, a clean room, and a hot shower.
Food has always been at the heart of our business. For 16 years, we have focused on serving quality “bush tucker” — wholesome meals just like Mum used to make — best enjoyed with a cold beer, wine, or soft drink. We are proud to have built a loyal customer base numbering in the thousands.
What began as a small selection of souvenirs at the bar has since grown into a fully stocked souvenir shop offering a wide range of products. Our enclosed Red Gum Room has also provided valuable versatility, allowing us to host coach groups, meetings, and events comfortably throughout the year, regardless of the weather.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our family, friends, and staff. Our family, despite their busy lives in Adelaide, have always been willing to step in and contribute whenever needed. Our friends have generously supported us through events such as St Pat’s Recovery Day, the Mundi Mundi Bash, and many other large functions.
Most importantly, we extend our sincere thanks to our staff, past and present. As with any small business, a dedicated and reliable team is essential, and we have been fortunate to work alongside so many committed people over the years.
Patsy and I will be remaining in Silverton, so please feel free to drop in and say hello.
We warmly welcome Liz and Norm and wish them every success as they continue to operate the hotel with the same passion and vision we have shared over the years.
Finally, to all our visitors — whether you stopped by for a look, a chat, a cold drink, or a meal — thank you for your support. We look forward to catching up with many of our regulars in the future.
With sincere thanks,
Peter & Patsy
