Celebrating our Artist in Residence, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins - Quandamooka artist, weaver and storyteller ✨

In Warrajamba, Delvene shares her connection to Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) and Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) through weaving, printmaking and natural materials gathered from Country — talwalpin (beach hibiscus cotton tree) fibres, yungair/yungaire (freshwater reed), quampie shells and natural dyes.

During National Reconciliation Week, and in the spirit of this year’s theme, All In, we’re honoured to celebrate living culture, storytelling and connection across generations.

Fresh garments now on display in Precious✨

At the centre is the Sali Dress, made from Lakes Beauty cotton voile, embellished with silver wire embroidery and Swarovski crystals. Inspired by Pacific tapa cloths, the dress highlights Easton Pearson’s blend of storytelling, craftsmanship and cultural reference.

Also on display are the Kushu capelet, Tampa singlet, Reese and Parachute skirts, with digitally printed silk organza based on vintage postcards, and Easton Pearson’s hand-finished edges and embellishment.

The Ohso jacket, Myrina cami, and Bughouse pants feature hand-dyed guinea fowl feathers, silk rouleau construction, metal-thread embroidery by women artisans in Vietnam, and printed silk twill.

Museum of Brisbane’s Easton Pearson Archive, comprising more than 3,300 signature garments, is the largest textile collection from a single Australian fashion house held by a museum. The Archive also includes accessories, original sketches, lookbooks, ephemera and runway footage.
