New work has joined the MAC yapang Sculpture Park!

Richard Tipping’s 'Imagine Silence' is a series of four artworks, each featuring a poem inscribed into a block of basalt crystal.

The works explore the relationship between text, objects, landscape and memory, giving the written word a sense of weight and materiality.

Donated by Richard Tipping to our Visual Arts Collection in 2026, the series is now on display in the Sculpture Park!

Introducing our latest sculpture, On The Lookout by Marlene Houston.

Created in 2024, it’s now part of the MAC yapang Sculpture Park, sitting between MAC yapang and Awaba House.

The Sculpture Park is home to 22 sculptures (with more to be announced soon 👀).

There are just a few days left to see Current Connections at MAC yapang.

David Collins, Sally Stokes, Belinda Street, Leah Thiessen and Ana Young share their responses to the Lake Macquarie landscape through paintings, drawings and sculptures.

It’s the final weekend to see 'Night Blossom', a joyful and colourful exhibition by Studio A artist Catherine McGuiness.

The exhibition features large-scale paintings, works on paper and a dinner table filled with bright ceramics and artworks, waiting for guests to arrive. There’s also a hilarious video of a chat between curator Shan Turner-Carroll and Catherine, giving you a glimpse into the fun they had while putting the exhibition together.

Closes 3pm Sunday 20 September.

Tickets are now on sale for three special events at In Full Bloom, MAC yapang’s 25th birthday party!

+Clapsticks painting and yarn with Adam Manning

These ticketed events are $43.33 each. Places are limited and expected to fill quickly.

There’s also plenty happening all day, with lots of FREE activities, workshops, music, artist talks and performances to enjoy.
