With the main facility buildingโs steel frame and roof installation now complete, during May we will continue the installation of wall cladding and preparation for the arrival and installation of specialist train manufacturing equipment.
๐ฆ๐๐บ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐:
โข Installation of site-wide utilities, including drainage, water and power.
โข Ongoing installation of the facility buildingโs faรงade and external features.
โข Installing the combined services route (CSR) which provides the power, signalling and communication cables that will run along the internal rail tracks.
โข Delivering and stockpiling rail sections which will be used to construct the internal commissioning track and connect to the main rail line.
โข Progressing construction of the commissioning track within the facility site, which will be used to test the new QTMP fleet before the trains enter the network.
โข Beginning utility and ventilation system installations within the main manufacturing building.
โข Continuing works to connect the facility to the mains water supply.
These works are being completed across Torbanlea between the facilityโs entrance off the Bruce Highway and Torbanlea-Pialba Road and will be completed in stages to reduce the impact on the local community. These works will continue throughout 2025.
๐ฆ๐๐บ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐:
โข Delivery of rail track and quarry materials, including ballast and sleepers.
โข Assessing the existing ground conditions, minor earthworks and forming rail maintenance access tracks.
โข Relocating utilities, power and telecommunications.
โข Boring under the rail line to connect underground services to the facility, including Telstra and Optus.
โข Replacing a section of track on the North Coast rail line.
Works will be undertaken within the rail corridor during a planned Queensland Rail track closure between 6am Saturday 10 May and 6pm Wednesday 14 May.
