Beverley Agricultural Machinery Museum

Our volunteers will be back out at the Museum on Saturday 12th September, throwing open the big doors to let all the spring sunshine in so our visitors can enjoy all our equipment on display.

From shearing plants, the old traditional shed fully set up and a robotic machine. No one seems keen to take up the offer of a free hair cut!

You might catch one of our volunteers resurrecting a red International C30 from 1935.

Or check out the pair of volunteers pulling the top covers of a Fordson diesel to unstick a valve or two, and firing it up after decades sitting in a paddock. Remember it’s positive to earth for the battery!

We’re paying a bit of attention to tyres at the moment. We block up many of our displays, but others are needing to be mobile and the tyres are perished. We’re investigating options for how these might be repaired so the flat bit on the bottom looks more like the round bit at the top.

If anyone has any 7.00 or 7.50 x 20 inch for the International C30, or a 3.00 x 21 for the lawn mower, preferably with tubes they would like to donate to us, please message.

The Museum will be open this weekend, on Saturday 5th September from 8:30am to 2:00pm. Drop in to visit Paul and the crew working to restore the old red truck, and check out their other projects. The FX Holden Ute, the WWII tank. Spend some time with us, then check out the rest of Avondale Farm and the wildflower walk.

The Museum will be open to the public this coming Saturday August 8, from 8.30 to 2.30

We enjoy showing visitors around and they all say how surprised they are at the variety and quality of the old farming equipment we have on display. The farmland around Avondale has a bright display of Canola right now, and the drive there is spectacular.

Donations are welcome.

We valued hosting the interested group of visitors from the Rover Car Club on 21 June. The group is gathering around the 1963 Rover, one of many that made its way to Avondale.

Located at historic Avondale Farm, just 6 km west of Beverley, the museum houses one of Western Australia’s largest collections of tractors, engines and agricultural machinery depicting the growth and innovation of agriculture since settlement. Many exhibits remain in working order and are operated for visitors when volunteers are available, all under the watchful eye of Moo, the museum’s much-loved emu.

We will be open this Saturday 27th June from 9:00am to 2:30pm. The lighting is now on again, improving the experience for our visitors.

Come see our many displays of equipment that have been used in our district, ranging from clearing the land to harvesting and all in between. We're often complemented for the variety of machines we have on display and it's good condition.

Our volunteers enjoy themselves at the Museum, both in projects and showing around our visitors.

The FX Holden Ute has been Gerry’s project for several years. Brakes, electrics, wheels, repairing replacing improving, reworking what had gone before. Many thanks to H at Beverley Tyres for supporting us with work on the wheels to get the old Ute mobile again. Gerry’s patience and tenacity had a big moment today when it all came together. Engine running, starting and stopping as it should and a drive around Avondale Farm. Well done Gerry, with help from Buddy.

We’d need a bigger shed to accommodate this gigantic Chamberlain 40K now at Carnamah. A magnificent testament to the WA built brand, it’s the best BIG thing in the country. Built to five times scale.

Come along to our museum to see the real functioning Chamberlains we have on display. Learn about how they worked the land and chat to our volunteers about how we keep them running.

Due to a power outage potentially lasting some time, your museum experience might not be as enjoyable as we would like. Some areas might be a bit dim without the lights.

However, we remain open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month with free entry and donations welcome.

Our team of volunteers will welcome you, and we enjoy talking with visitors about how the machines we have on display were used in the past.
