We’d need a bigger shed to accommodate this gigantic Chamberlain 40K now at Carnamah. A magnificent testament to the WA built brand, it’s the best BIG thing in the country. Built to five times scale.

Come along to our museum to see the real functioning Chamberlains we have on display. Learn about how they worked the land and chat to our volunteers about how we keep them running.

Due to a power outage potentially lasting some time, your museum experience might not be as enjoyable as we would like. Some areas might be a bit dim without the lights.

However, we remain open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month with free entry and donations welcome.

Our team of volunteers will welcome you, and we enjoy talking with visitors about how the machines we have on display were used in the past.

Moo's been on an adventure again, finding her way all the way over to Great Southern Highway. She was so keen to see Bronwyn again. 😍. 'Where have you been Mum?'

The museum is open in May on Saturday 9th and 23rd. Come to us on Waterhatch Road, 5km from Beverley between 8:30am and 2:30pm. Meet Moo if she is around, and have a guided tour of the Museum with its fine collection of old machinery - much of it in working order.

Supported by a team of volunteers and the Shire of Beverley. Donation based entry.

The museum will be open on both Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th this weekend - 9:00am to 2:00pm.

You can see all the exhibits, chat to the volunteers working on projects to keep things running, and be shown around by one of our guides.

We’ve got machines still running that are over 100 years old. See the machines farmers of the past used to sow and harvest, shear and bale, cut and split. Imagine living in a time gone past, and how technology has changed to modern times.

We’re pleased to announce our opening days for the next month.

We’ve all had a break over the hot weather; even Moo went for a wander along Waterhatch Road. Was she seeking some company with none of us around?

Help Moo not be lonely and come to visit Avondale and the Agricultural Machinery Museum when we are open on 9:00am to 2:00pm:

28th March - Saturday
4th April - Saturday - Easter Saturday
6th April - Monday - Easter Monday
11th April - Saturday - Beverley Air Show day
12th April - Sunday - Stay around in Beverley after the Air show
18th April - Saturday
19th April - Sunday
25th April - Saturday - Anzac Day - with a minutes silence at 11:00am

Our displays of old machinery, tractors, headers, ploughs, workshop tools and transport vehicles have links to our community. There’s even an army tank that served as a strong tug for farming in the past. It’s a large collection and the small group of dedicated volunteers enjoy working on them to make sure they keep running and showing visitor around.

Donation based entry.

5km west of Beverley on Waterhatch Road. Part of Avondale Farm which is an added bonus of a visit. Set aside a couple of hours and step back in time.

The team at the museum has welcomed many people this year. Many are surprised at the size and quality of what we have on display and enjoyed interesting conversations our team of volunteer helpers. We learn from our visitors too, those who have used the gear in the past or remember it from visits to farms as children.

Interest wanes over the heat of summer, so we close up for a few months. Our last day for 2025 will be Saturday 8th November commencing at 8:30am and closing early afternoon.

We expect to reopen in April 2026 and to coincide with the exciting Beverley Airshow on 11 April when our little town will swell with visitors. Exact dates will be published here closer to that time.

Our plans for 2026 include returning the shearing shed to a functional state - (free haircuts anyone?) and ensuring as many of our engines as possible are returned to a running state. We're particularly keen to get our M3 Stewart Tank running in 2026. It's rotary aircraft engine will sound a treat.

Thanks for your interest in our museum over 2025.

The Museum is open to visitors again this Saturday, 25th October from 8:30am to early afternoon. Our volunteers welcome our visitors and enjoy showing them around, talking over the exhibits and how they were used by the men and women who worked the land. You’ll spot the volunteers repairing the old gear and maybe even starting up a machine or two to show you how it was done. If you used to operate the old machinery, we’re really keen to hear your stories too.

We’re at Avondale Farm, 6kms West of Beverley on the Waterhatch Road. Watch out for Moo on the drive in.

The Beverley Rose and Quilt Show is on in Beverley too on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. https://facebook.com/events/s/beverley-rose-show-quilt-exhib/2007610823354568/

Along with many happy groups of visitors who checked in to the museum today, Moo dropped in for a visit too.

She’s friendly, but does like to trawl through interesting looking things in cars so it’s best to keep your windows shut. Don’t ask us about how many shiny bolts she’s made off with when we’re working on our vintage machinery! Oh Moo, not again……

Our volunteers always enjoy showing visitors around and the younger visitors are certainly not ignored. They love it too.
