Not all treasures at the Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre are about mining & the underground!

We were recently gifted these gorgeous circa-1960s hats, and our team is officially obsessed. Aren’t they grand? Fashion in the '60s had a distinct, regal elegance that turned everyday wear into a statement.

Our Centre is all about preserving the stories of how we lived, worked, and dressed.

He drove to Fingal for a replacement.
Thanks Mike — dedication like that deserves a medal.

Being Mother’s Day, we’ve pulled a beautiful treasure from our collection to share.

This postcard from London, circa 1904, features a portrait titled ‘Kiss it, Mother’ by artist Maude Goodman. It serves as a lovely reminder of how motherhood has been cherished and celebrated across generations.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums—biological, step, foster, adoptive, and fur mums alike. However your family is made, your love is what makes it whole.
