Wheel Wednesday!

Last week’s new arrival made us take a walk around and see all the yellow cars we seem to have collected of late! And it looks very much like there is no consensus on what colour wheels look the best (or shade of yellow, if it comes to that!)

So tell us, what’s your favourite?

The National Motor Racing Museum is open daily from 9am to 4:30pm, closed on Tuesdays!

A Very Bright Addition!

Arriving this week for our display is the EF Falcon built for Playscape Racing in 1995!

On of the very controversial ‘lightweight’ Falcons built in 1995, this car first raced at Sandown that year, driven by Kevin Waldock and Mark McLaughlin. An eighth place finish at the Tooheys 1000 in 1995 was an excellent result for the privateer team, and would be the car’s most successful trip to Mount Panorama across four attempts.

Thanks to the car’s owner for loaning us this great example of a mid-90s V8 touring car, from the period that hadn’t quite yet become V8 Supercars!

The National Motor Racing Museum is open daily from 9am to 4:30pm, closed on Tuesdays.

Wheel Wednesday!

A Last Look!

If you saw our video earlier today, you’ll have seen that the Falcon GT-HO Phase III has departed our display after featuring in the 100 Years of Ford in Australia Special Exhibition.

This stunning car finished second in both the 1971 and 1972 Bathurst 500 races at Mount Panorama, and has been beautifully restored back to the 1972 livery when driven by John French. After a quick stop off at the top of the Mountain, the car is heading home, and we thank the owners for displaying this incredible piece of history with us at the National Motor Racing Museum.

The Museum is open daily from 9am to 4:30pm, closed on Tuesdays.

A Very Special Departure!

Today we had one exhibit leave, and a new arrival, but as a teaser, turn up your sound and enjoy this one!

Second in the Bathurst 500 in two consecutive years, this amazing Falcon GT-HO Phase III has to be a contender for one of the most stunning cars to ever be on display at the National Motor Racing Museum!

Another Departure!

Heading back to the owner today is the stunning Holden Torana A9X four door driven by Bob Morris and John Fitzpatrick at the 1977 Hardie-Ferodo 1000!

It’s been great to have this beautiful car on show next to the 1976 Bathurst winner from the same team, but sadly, we’re saying goodbye today - our thanks go to the owner for displaying the car with us over the past 14 months.

Although we’re moving a few cars out of late, there’s still heaps to see, and we’ll be adding new exhibits to our display now that we have a little bit of space!

The National Motor Racing Museum is open daily from 9am to 4:30pm, closed on Tuesdays.

Thanks to the owner for displaying this great piece of Holden history with us!
