We also have history of other local soldiers.
One of our volunteers is an ex NORFORCE member and is very proud of the varied display. There's also a NORFORCE book for viewing.

When you come to the museum, just pop into the office first.

The volunteer will give you a run down on what you will see, receive your payment with thanks, and likely have a bit of a chat.

If a volunteer isn't at the office, don't worry, they won't be far, likely just doing a bit of tidy up or maintenance.

At the office you can buy a drink, ice cream, or a book too.

It's on again, and who doesn't love a local market.

This Sunday come through Batchelor to grab a local art piece, a plant, or a bite to eat.
Enjoy the beautiful parks and Brumbies, and a castle replica before heading to the museum for only $10.
Learn about the Uranium mine and the RAAF history of this area.

Of course then pop on out to waterfalls.

Yes, we are open today.

Why is this picnic day?
Well it started very close by at Adelaide River as a trade union holiday for railway workers.

What did people do on a day off? Well, likely drink and race horses.
I found this snippet on Wikipedia confirming part of that assumption.

Today the holiday still aligns with Darwin Cup Day for the top end.
