Here's an update on the Schneider ES-56 Nymph II.
At the Museum's Annual General Meeting on Sunday 2 September, the Nymph, now restored for display, was rigged. The restoration has taken a bit over 2 years, given the other projects & issues we've had to deal with. Dealing with a single 12m wing meant the workshop was a little crowded at times.....

The Golden Eagle with Terry Dillon. Terry achieved his Silver C in the Golden Eagle at Corowa more than a few moons ago. Terry was very pleased to see the Golden Eagle and also his name and flight in the log book!

We recently had a visit from the Bristol Car Club - it seems that many have an interest in all sorts of vintage modes of transport! Check out their magnificent vehicles in the pic.

And here's the ES-56 Nymph fuse wearing its new clothes and ready for some fresh paint - that won't happen for a while as we're busy working on the wing and controls.

And here's the Nymph fuse getting re-clothed by a couple of our happy volunteers.🙂

Well done Jim! Great to see your energy and dedication has been rewarded! For those who don't know Jim, he's at the bottom left, sharing his pic with Sammy J, comedian, satirist and radio & TV identity.

About 13 years ago, John Parncutt posted a video on Youtube called "Q***r Birds". It is the story of the Victorian Motorless Flight Group (now Melbourne Gliding Club) filmed in the late 1950's or early '60's at Casey Field at Berwick. VFMG/Melbourne Gliding Club celebrated its 80th birthday last weekend.
Just by chance, the video has several shots of the Schneider ES56 Nymph we are currently refurbishing in the workshop. Attached is a short excerpt from the video with the Nymph in its heyday. Enjoy!
