Instead of New Year’s resolutions, I always choose a single word to set the vibe✨ for the year ahead.
A word that emerges while reflecting on the challenges and wins of the year just gone, and my hopes for the future.
2025 was LEARN 🧠 and it was achieved ✔️
I learnt more about my ADHD and anxiety.
I learnt about my hormones and menstrual cycle, and how to respect them instead of masking them with synthetic hormones.
My husband and I learnt more about each other’s needs and how to communicate better.
I re-learnt how to play hockey after 25 years away from a team sport I love.
After a very hard winter for small businesses, I learnt that sometimes the best way to run a creative business based on passion is to step back slightly — and that a fun, relaxing part-time job (8 hours a week is perfect for me) can take the pressure off creating for a living.
And I lovedddd spontaneously teaching myself silversmithing and adding sea glass and silver jewellery to my offerings.
For 2026, my word is FLOW 〰️
I have an inkling that every month of 2026 will look different — for me, my business and my family.
With Uffe and his mates’ collective cellar door opening soon we’re adding another biz to the mix, followed by vintage, travel to Denmark, Scotland and Vanuatu, juggling my pottery, jewellery and part-time gigs.
I’ll have one kid in Year 2 and one kid starting kindy.
How did that happen?!
So yes… 2026 = FLOW 〰️
Flowing with change and seasons instead of resisting them.
Flowing between work commitments, allowing them to rise and fall while trusting myself to hold it all.
Flowing with my family around the world, making memories and spending time with people we don’t see often enough.
And flowing with money — trusting that it’s okay to exchange our hard-earned income for incredible experiences, travel and improvements to our home.
Here’s to softness, trust and movement.
Here’s to an exciting and beautiful 2026
Here’s to FLOW 〰️✨
