This from our great friend Tim Bauer-
Thanks for all the love Dirk you believed in me when I didn’t you welcomed me into your Albury / Wodonga photography world and gave me back my Mojo and love of life. Thank you Brother.
I just wanted to share a few simple words and memories about Dirk Wallace, I meet Dirk and Beautiful Brenda through his beautiful brother John at a time when I was not in the strongest of mental places and really just full of self-doubt and really questioning my photography career and my future.
Dirk was inspiring and his enthusiasm made me want to get up and go for it, to live a full life to embrace all those dreams and projects that had shelved. Dirk was a lot braver than I ever will be, he touched so many people in a positive way and bought a lot of joy to the community.
Dirk's dream was to promote Photography in the area with the Turks Head Gallery and as we all know he took on this challenge in COVID times not an easy task. We all know he had an amazing ability to bring people together from amateur and professional photographers to school children and the man on the street. Ego free and with a huge heart he motivated many local kids with his inclusive projects. He had an absolute passion for the old analog real film and
chemicals photography world as well as embracing the digital world.
Dirk was a true friend he would never ask you for anything but he was always there to listen and offer his kind heart and vast knowledge.
Dirk thank you for introducing me to all the wonderful people of Albury that you bought together in such an amazing way buddy you won't be forgotten ever I can assure you that your passion and love for photography will live on and it this point I would just like to add Brenda has been an amazing rock behind the scene as has his beautiful brother John his amazing wife Jo and their three brilliant children Jack Ruby and Charlie.
I love you as will miss you mate. Until we meet again you mix up the D 76 I'll be there to shake the film canister and will make some prints again one-day.
