The existing page, however, does not link to our society Gmail account. To streamline administrative processes, we created a new page that is linked to this account. A reflection by Jo Telfer of Ignacio Rojas’ workshop:

AAS was the perfect setting for any beginner in the Portraiture Workshop. Being a smaller group, they all received individual, focused attention from teacher, Ignacio Rojas.

Day 1 was a balance of watching Ignacio's demos of creating skin colours, proportions, and then trying to practise them ourselves.

Day 2 was the real challenge - painting from life with the gorgeous Lilly Vitagliano! This required digging deep to battle our fears, but Ignacio, who has had years of experience, was fantastic in helping each one of us achieve a painting we were proud of!

Last Friday night was our last Social Night for 2025. Rob Gutteridge, a well-known and respected Adelaide artist and teacher, was our presenter. Rob demonstrated his approach to drawing in charcoal from a cast model. Rob spoke about the classical realism approach and his art experiences. He described how he made his decisions as the form emerged before us during the drawing process. It was a most enlightening evening. Thanks to Rob for his generous and engaging presentation.

SPRING EXHIBITION 2025
Thank you to all the Society members who entered their works in this exhibition; a fabulous variety of works, and fourteen paintings were sold.
This feels like déjà vu; congratulations to Ralph Faggotter who won the People’s Choice Award for his painting “Woman in Red Dress”!
A big thank you to the committee and members who helped to get the exhibition ready for the opening, everyone’s willingness to help is much appreciated by me.
Don’t relax just yet, we have receiving coming up on Saturday 15th of November from 1pm to 3.30pm for our Two-Day Art Sale. More information will be coming soon.

Our Spring Member’s Exhibition is open on Saturday and Sunday this weekend at our Grain store studio, 112 Margaret Street, North Adelaide, from 11.00 to 3.00.
These are the last days of this amazing exhibition and your last chance to view and perhaps buy beautiful artworks. As these are the final two days of the exhibition any works bought may be taken at the time.
