Why do the Camera Portfolio 3 class?
The Camera Portfolio 3 class is a gateway towards your personal development with your photographic image-making. This is because it actually focusses on you the artist using photography and by association, your personal and professional development as an artist.
This subject has been specifically planned to cause you to become very introspective and to ask yourself “Just what brings me to my artistic development with this medium thus far?” I know it is a BIG question actually, but one which needs to be asked to get yourself to the next level of creativity, and certainly a question which usually has not been posited to you as a student.
To this end, this class covers a range of extended portfolios from artists who by and large have used photography as a medium of expression and it also focusses weekly on work in progress which you are expected to produce regularly as a contribution to weekly class discussions for your visual and conceptual development. You will also now be expected to start producing an artists’ Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) so your anticipated exhibition applications will not be wanting.
Yes Camera Portfolio 3 is a challenge, but it’s YOUR challenge to turn it into something expressly for you.
