Meet Tala Kaalim: the Adelaide glass artist brings her work to our window this August.

Tala's practice spans hand-blown production glass, hot-formed exhibition pieces and intricately patterned murrini roll-up work. She builds each body of work as an abstract narrative, where every glass object speaks to the next, reflecting moments from her own life. Tala is currently based at Gate 8 Workshop and is a staff member at the Jam Factory Glass Studio, contributing to Adelaide's glass community while continuing her own practice.

See Tala's work in our window from 2–29 August as part of SALA Festival.

Creativity is always happening at T'Arts. Come and see what's new.

It's Buy SA Week! 🎉 There's never been a better time to discover the work of local makers, and T'Arts Collective has been doing exactly that since 2003. We're a not-for-profit, member-run gallery right in the heart of Rundle Mall, home to over 30 South Australian artists working across textiles, glass, ceramics, jewellery, wood, leather and more.

Every piece in our gallery is designed and handmade by the artist themselves, many of whom you'll meet in person, since there's always an artist on duty in the shop. Supporting T'Arts means supporting dozens of local creative small businesses in one visit.

Pop in this Buy SA Week and take home something made right here in South Australia.

Mark Jones has been a founding member of T'Arts since the Collective's inception, trained in shoemaking in Sydney before building a career that's taken his leatherwork to design fairs in Germany and gift fairs in San Francisco.

His window, Colour and Texture, showcases timeless classics alongside contemporary pieces featuring illustrated Italian leather, each one as much sculpture as it is functional object.

Not long left to see this lovely display before it changes over on Saturday 1 August.

Liz Wauchope has been painting on silk since 1982, and her work carries the accumulated richness of a life spent travelling and looking closely at the world.

From Alice Springs to far-flung destinations, memorable places find their way into her scarves and textiles through screen printing, shibori, indigo and devoré.

Her window, Miss B's Bo***ir, created with Naina Devi, Maureen Prichard and Maude Bath, is on display at T'Arts Collective Gallery for just over a week, before it changes over on 1 August.

"Rhythm. Perspective. Worlds. Experiences. Emotion."

That's how Kathryn Gruber sums up her inspiration in five words.

Her abstract paintings start loud: colour, music, and intuition guiding the first layers. Slowly, the piece finds its balance, light against dark, colour against calm, until pencil and charcoal define the final journey through the work.

Her dream studio visit? Wassily Kandinsky, the artist who experienced music in colour and line.

Curious? Come and see Kathryn's layered abstracts for yourself. There's always an artist on duty at T'Arts Collective Gallery. Drop in for a chat and discover something new.
