Materialien und Epochen werden mit eigenen Erzeugungen verbunden, Teile und Funktionen von Gegenständen werden dekonstruiert und zu neuen Produkten gefertigt. Das Ergebnis sind Objekt-Collagen zwischen zeitgenössischem Design und Objektkunst. Es ist das Spiel mit dem Gegensatz, die Lust mit Inhalten und Formen zu experimentieren und zu inspirieren. Manches ist ein Gebrauchsding, anderes ein Ding für sich – Die Schönheit sei Idee! Down up and in between: Konservation/Transformation, Einzelstücke/Auftragsarbeiten, Handwerk/Spiel, Abstrakt/Konkret, Alt/Neu, Form/Substanz, Eisen/Gold, Raum/Punkt, Zufall/Komposition ...
Die neuen Studio Räume in der Wiener Innenstadt sind von Dienstag bis Freitag, 14.00 – 18.00 Uhr und nach telefonischer Vereinbarung geöffnet. (Dezember: Mo - Sa)
Neben den dort präsentierten Produkten übernimmt STUDIO MOLLAY BIBAWY die Produktion von Auftragsarbeiten sowie die Gestaltung von Geschäftslokalen, Kultur- und Privaträumen, für die sie individuelle Konzepte erarbeiten und umsetzen. Amira Bibawy-Mollay & Michael Mollay

STUDIO MOLLAY BIBAWY search, find, collect, treat and produce objects. They track the narrative of things and tell a new story with them by remodeling and redefining them. Findings and collections out of various materials and times are being assembled with handcrafted manufacture. Pieces and fragments are being deconstructed and assembled to a new product. The results are object collages ranging from contemporary design to object art. Playing with contrasts and fancying to experiment and inspire with contents and forms. This process leads from down to up and in between: Preservation/ transformation, single piece/ remittance work, hand craft/ performance, old/ new, form/ substance, iron/ gold, space/ point, coincidence/ composition.. Quoting the Austrian Architect Adolf Loos: “A house should never be finished. The characteristics of a modern piece is modern if it suitable to neighbor the old stuff.”
The new studio gallery space in Viennas center is open now. Tuesday to Friday afternoon or by appointment. Besides presenting and selling the products there Studio Mollay Bibawy take over project and product orders, for art objects, interior design and individual space concepts.
