The gallery is delighted to announce its first participation in Art Basel Paris directed by Karim Crippa with a solo presentation by Beatrice Bonino, Emergence section — Booth 1.M22

Beatrice Bonino ( b.1992, Torino) holds a PhD in Sanskrit at Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle.
The artistic practice of Beatrice Bonino investigates the existence of objects as combinations of the most minor materials, conceived as something that must first be noticed to be real. The selection of materials is an essential part of Bonino’s practice, described as a disjunctive enumeration of what is worth celebrating and what, on the other hand, she does not wish to espouse or elevate. Like words divorced from their meanings, the materials are used divergently from their original use—a use which, due to historical-economic contingency, was never actually fulfilled. Often presented as the ingredients list of a packaging, they can be defined as ‘virginal vintage,’ as they have history, but have remained untouched until this new usage.

Mimmo Rotella (1918–2006) was an Italian artist known for his décollage technique, which involved tearing and reworking advertising posters found on the streets of Rome. In the 1960s, he became part of the Nouveau Réalismemovement and increasingly incorporated images from consumer culture into his work.

His art combined abstraction and representation, alongside artists such as Alberto Burri and Lucio Fontana. In the late 1960s, Rotella developed the Artypo series, using industrial printing processes that gave his works a distinctive mechanical appearance. During the same period, he met Andy Warhol and became immersed in New York’s contemporary art scene.

In the group show Motorcycle, Desiderio Di Colore, we present a work from the Artypo series from the late 1960s, in which Rotella appropriated industrial billboard-printing techniques, lending his compositions a distinctive mechanical aesthetic. It was also during the late 1960s that he met Andy Warhol and spent time in New York, immersing himself in the city’s contemporary art scene.

TODAY: in the 18th Lyon Biennale - Contemporary Art
“PASSER D’UN RÊVE À L’AUTRE” curated by Catherine Nichols

Opening reception:
Professional days: September 17-18, 2026
Preview / Opening: September 18, 2026

The Biennale will be on view until 13 December, 2026

Drawing on the “Principles of Poetic Economy” (1976) by French artist Robert Filliou, this edition explores the relationships between art and economy through the lenses of work, exchange, care, and notions of value.

Presented across several iconic venues in Lyon, the exhibition brings together contemporary and historical works as well as archives, inviting visitors to rethink our economic imaginaries and forms of cooperation: at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lyon, Les Grandes Locos, the Museum of Textiles and Decorative Arts, the Confluences Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Villeurbanne, and at various sites across the city, the metropolitan area, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Brilant Milazimi (b.1994, Gjilan, Kosovo), translates his perception of the world that surrounds him into images that are bitter, funny, tender, and weird all at the same time. Driven by the machinery of the unconscious, and inspired by the imaginaries of fictional universes, he finds expressions both sinister and poetical for an approach to the society he lives in: the exaggerated physiognomies and the highlighted symbolism of the teeth or the features of the animals are visual manifestations that point to the present and its conflicts. Milazimi studied visual arts at the University of Prishtina.
