14:00 - Urhof (Kunsthaus Grünbach am Schneeberg) doors open (trains in Grünbach am Schneeberg arrive at 14:10, 15:10,...)

15:00 - performances start
(vocal impro, solo performances, collective showings, garden exploration)

17:45 - walking act to local church

18:00 - pipe organ and electronics concerts in the church

19:30 - second part back at Urhof starts (video projections, film scoring, solos and ensembles)

22:00 - outdoor DJ set

until (open) end - collective open session, hang out

The 40 residency artists will share insights into their work and collaborations: a full day of short presentations, collaborative performances, work-in-progress showings or sonic interventions.

Jürgen Berlakovich uses a specially developed DNA sonification software for his compositions and live-sets. This DNA-sound-translator is able to transform DNA sequences into sound and music on the basis of a genetic system called Codon. Berlakovich performs live together with drummer Stefan Voglsinger. Ernst Lima (AT)

Fluid but always deeply set, Ernst Limas compositions eschew single genres and identities, as it wades through influences spanning experimental electronic, electro-acoustics, film scoring, combined with the types of raw guitar loops from which their songwriting process often originates.

Verdachtsfälle (AT)

After a first explosive stage encounter in 2020, sound artists and composers Abu Gabi and Jakob Schauer reunite for a show that promises raw sonic intensity. Emerging from a shared background of breakbeat socialisation and experimental electronics, the Vienna-based artists open up brutal spaces of sound – equal parts catharsis and confrontation. Noise becomes language, rhythm becomes rupture.

VÍZ (HU/AT/DE)

The experimental solo project of Hungarian Transylvanian multidisciplinary artist Réka Csiszér is an exploration of identity, processed acoustic liminal sounds, analogue synthesis,transylvanian folklore, diaristic arias, opera and noise. VÍZ’s live act has been described as unsettling, haunting and confrontational – oscillating between science fiction avantgarde opera and ghostly incantations; creating pulsating, hypnotic sound constructions that dissolve in catharsis.

Racine (CAN)corporation

Montréal composer, sound engineer and producer Julien Racine, or simply Racine, has published five albums, the most recent of which, Comedia, was released in March 2025 through Italian label Haunter Records. Quelque chose tombe, released on Danse noire back in 2020, was widely praised by international media, giving him the opportunity to tour Europe in the spring of 2020, then later that year at MUTEK Montréal. Throughout his career, Racine also composed music and did the sound design and mix for several films shown in numerous cinemas, festivals and galleries.

Nadeshda (AT)

Nadeshda is the solo project of Andreas Christian Haslauer. Best known for his work with cassettes and tapeloops involving manipulating cassette tapes to create unique, layered soundscapes. Nadeshda’s compositions often involve recordings of his own music and samples, dubbed on cassette tapes and then manipulated through a process of DIY or circuit bent guitar pedals and other modified gear, resulting in twisted, haunting soundscapes.

Demetrio Cecchitelli (IT)
shows: Stillness of Fragility

Stillness of Fragility is an audiovisual collaboration between the photographer Chiara Benzi, the video artist Vladimir Bertozzi and the musician Demetrio Cecchitelli. The work traverses oceans of deep states of upside-down layers of surreal and hyper-imaginary boundaries. Demetrio Cecchitelli focuses on principles of semantic interpretation, ontology and imaginative poetics.

Astro Black (AT)

Graz-based electronic musician Richie Herbst and Viennese saxophonist Michael Masen combine old passions with new paths. They combine dark atmospheres with elements of noise, free jazz and electronics. The duo's works reflect political convictions and a longing for utopian worlds inspired by science fiction themes. Herbst with noisy-drone soundscapes with modular synthesizers and effects, Masen on alto and tenor saxophone, in the tradition of border crossers such as Peter Brötzmann, Paul Flaherty and Kaoru Abe. In their performances, they enhance the immersive sound aesthetics of their music with visual effects.

Zeynep Sarıkartal (TR/AT)

Zeynep Sarıkartal is an improviser/sound artist and musicologist. She studied classical piano in Ankara and completed her bachelor's degree in musicology at Istanbul Yıldız Teknik University. She completed her MA in Ethnomusicology at the University of Vienna with field research in Malawi. Since 2010 she lives and works in Vienna, in theater, film and multimedia projects as a musician, performed in Europe, Canada and Turkey, curated music events, participated in international collaborative albums and worked with several improvisation artists. Since 2019 she has been working as a composer with quadro/octophonic and acousmatic formats.
