Mit Gastein in Österreich hat die Art on Snow nicht nur eine neue Heimat, sondern auch einen idealen Partner gefunden. Die Orte Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein und Dorfgastein bieten mit ihrer langen Kunsthistorie und der entsprechenden Architektur optimale Voraussetzungen und die perfekten Locations für das Festival. hlight im Salzburger Kultur-Kalender und bietet eine ganze Woche lang Kunst zum Anfassen und Erleben mit Ausstellungen, Livepainting-Aktionen, Workshops und vielem mehr. Mitten in der Hauptsaison steht das gesamte Gasteinertal im Zeichen der Kunst und auch beim Skifahren begegnet man den Werken der Künstler, wie beispielsweise den verschiedenen Schnee- und Eisskulpturen, die zugleich als Wegweiser für die Aktionen im Tal dienen. Neue Künstler und Stile aus den Bereichen Malerei, Zeichnung und Fotografie sowie neue Formate und Aktionen bieten einen bunten Mix für die gesamte Woche. Die Basis der Art on Snow bilden 2014 die "Glow in the dark" Fotoausstellungen sowie ein echtes Schnee- und Eiscafé. Art on Snow – the biggest art-festival in the Alps. With Gastein in Austria the Art on Snow has found not only a new home but also an ideal partner. The three villages Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein and Dorfgastein with their long time art history and corresponding architecture offer perfect conditions and locations for the festival. The Art on Snow is a true highlight of Salzburg’s cultural calendar and presents art that people can touch and experience in combination with exhibitions, live painting actions, workshops and much more for a whole week. In the middle of the high season the signs in the complete Gasteinertal will be pointing to art. Even whilst skiing the guests will encounter art works, for example the various snow and ice sculptures which simultaneously serve as guide signs to the highlights down in the valley. New artists and styles from the fields of painting, drawing and photography as well as new formats and program points offer a colourful mixture all week long. Thereby the festival remains faithful to its roots and still presents art on snow. In 2014 the base of the Art on Snow will be the "Glow in the dark" photo exhibitions as well as a real Café made out of ice and snow.
