Truly honoured to have been invited to the Dubai Mall pop-up celebrating Inanna Reborn, the fashion brand by Her Highness Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, inspired by her research into the ancient queens of Arabia.
Having read Let Them Know She Is Here before this encounter, the experience held a special meaning for me.
The book is a must-read. You don’t simply read it; you travel with Her Highness through history, discovering the lives and legacies of women whose stories deserve to be remembered.
You know when you watch a movie without reading the book first? You may understand the story, but miss its deeper meaning. Then you read the book, watch the movie again, and suddenly everything makes sense.
That is how I see the connection between the book and Inanna Reborn: history brought to life through fashion, carrying the legacy of ancient queens into the present.
When I met Her Highness, I told her how much her book had inspired me, although the excitement of the moment meant I didn’t manage to say everything I wanted.
Because beyond history, the book made me stop and reflect. Sometimes, we spend so long in survival mode that we forget who we are, our own voice, and the dreams we carry.
One word stays with me: REMEMBER.
Remember who you are. Remember your strength. Sometimes, being reborn isn’t about becoming someone new, but rediscovering the person you’ve always been.
