International Museum Day 2026 celebration! 🎉
KHAKAH Guided Tour: Shakir Ali Museum (IMD 2026)
LAHORE — 14 May 2026: KHAKAH successfully kicked off its flagship Guided Tour series at the Shakir Ali Museum to celebrate International Museum Day (IMD), an event featured on the global ICOM Interactive Map.

Highlights:
-ICOM & IMD Orientation: Students explored the global mission of ICOM and how museums foster cultural unity.
-The Artist's Legacy: Visitors learned about Shakir Ali, the pioneer of modernism who brought European Cubism and Expressionism to Pakistan, blending them with local calligraphy and symbolic themes like birds and cages.
-Modern Art Hub: The tour highlighted the museum—Ali's former burnt-brick residence—as the birthplace of Lahore's contemporary art movement and an essential educational bridge for student artists.
-Interactive Exploration: Participants engaged directly with preserved history, viewing the master artist's original paintbrushes, personal library, furniture, and unfinished masterpieces.

خاکہ نے میوزیم کے عالمی دن کی خوشی میں شاکر علی میوزیم کے معلوماتی دورے کا کامیابی سے آغاز کر دیا ہے۔ یہ پروگرام آئی کام (ICOM) کے عالمی نقشے پر بھی شامل ہے
۔
آئی کام کی معلومات: طلبہ کو میوزیم کے عالمی مقصد اور ثقافت کو
جوڑنے میں عجائب گھروں کے کردار کے بارے میں بتایا گیا۔

فنکار کی تاریخ: آنے والوں کو شاکر علی کے بارے میں بتایا گیا، جنہوں نے پاکستان میں جدید آرٹ متعارف کروایا اور مغربی طریقوں کو مقامی خطاطی اور علامات (جیسے پرندے اور پنجرے) کے ساتھ ملایا۔

جدید آرٹ کا مرکز: یہ میوزیم (جو شاکر علی کا گھر تھا) لاہور میں جدید آرٹ کی شروعات کی جگہ ہے اور نئے فنکاروں کے لیے سیکھنے کا اہم مرکز ہے۔تاریخ کا مشاہدہ: طلبہ نے استادِ فن کے اصل رنگ برُش، ان کی کتابیں، فرنیچر اور ادھورے پینٹنگز خود دیکھیں۔
