French sculptor Denis Nayrac transforms bronze and metal into deeply emotional forms that exist between strength and fragility. Entirely self-taught, the artist developed a distinctive sculptural language shaped by instinct, craftsmanship, and years of collaboration with the legendary Igor Mitoraj.

His works balance monumentality with intimacy — combining raw materiality, spirituality, and human emotion. Through expressive surfaces, fractured forms, and symbolic compositions, Nayrac explores themes of identity, memory, resilience, and transformation.

Whether monumental or intimate in scale, his sculptures invite viewers into a silent dialogue — one that speaks not only about the body, but also about the inner human condition.

In “Cerco Un Centro di Gravità Permanente”, transforms bronze into a meditation on the human condition. The mirrored sphere at the center represents the soul — reflecting both the surrounding world and the observer themselves. Around it, dark intertwining forms embody life’s struggles, experiences, and transformations that ultimately allow the spirit to shine again.

Unlike the artist’s iconic spherical compositions, this work moves toward a flattened, almost two-dimensional form — evoking a state of inner stillness, stability, and emotional equilibrium.

A reminder to remain centered, even amidst uncertainty.

The first edition of the Art Seeding Festival .seeding arrives at Al Khayat Art Avenue — transforming the district into an open platform for contemporary art, public installations, murals, performances, and live artistic interventions.

On 19 May from 7:30 PM, join us at Oblong Contemporary for a special late opening during this citywide celebration of art and culture.

Spend the evening moving through galleries, outdoor installations, performances, and creative encounters across Al Khayat Avenue, with opera, contemporary dance, live music, workshops, and guided tours throughout the night.

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet our resident artist Hussain Jamil and discover his latest works presented at the gallery.

Within A Return to Presence, the works of Robert Hromec invite the viewer into a dialogue between surface, perception, and emotional depth.

Known for his distinctive fusion of painting, printmaking, and experimental mixed media, Hromec creates works that shift between materiality and illusion. Through layered textures, reflective surfaces, and luminous compositions, his practice explores the fragile space between what is seen and what is felt.

His works possess a quiet intensity — balancing precision with spontaneity, structure with emotion — revealing landscapes of memory, transformation, and human presence. In the context of the exhibition, Hromec’s visual language becomes a meditation on perception itself: how we absorb, reflect, and reconnect through art.
