We’re pleased to invite you to the opening of “In A Group Picture,” a solo exhibition by Palestinian artist Inass Yassin at Iyad Qanazea Gallery.

Date: Thursday, 11 June 2026
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Iyad Qanazea Gallery

Inass Yassin’s practice explores the visual language of rural Palestinian celebrations, drawing from 1980s wedding albums to reconstruct absent popular photography. Through research, community dialogue, and collected family archives, she creates portraits fused with ornate festive backdrops, reviving a vibrant visual heritage of color, texture, and symbolism that once shaped village image‑making before it faded.

We look forward to welcoming you to this meaningful event.

Iyad Qanazea Gallery is proud to announce that one of the artworks of Mohammed Hawajri has been acquired into the collection of the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia, Italy — a milestone that is both important and meaningful in Hawajri’s artistic journey.

In the words of the artist: “The inclusion of my work in the collection of this historic museum carries great human and cultural significance. It offers my artistic practice, emerging from Gaza, a new presence within the global contemporary art scene and cultural dialogue.”

Our sincere gratitude goes to Mr. Stefano Karadjov, Director of the Santa Giulia Museum, and to the entire wonderful museum team for their generous recognition and their commitment to supporting contemporary art.

Visit us on the final day of Art Dubai 2026 — 17 May

Discover the work of Palestinian artist Mohammed Al Hawajri, represented at Art Dubai by Iyad Qannazea Gallery (Abu Dhabi), and explore his powerful practice through the acclaimed Animal Works series.

Mohammed Al Hawajri, a leading figure in contemporary Palestinian art, uses animals as sharp, symbolic protagonists in his visual storytelling. In his evolving “Animal Farm” world, goats, cows, donkeys, birds, and hybrid creatures become stand‑ins for human behavior, political tension, and the absurdity of life under pressure.

Al Hawajri’s animals are never passive. They negotiate power, vulnerability, and survival with a mix of humor and tragedy. His goats may appear playful, but they carry the weight of displacement; his donkeys, often underestimated creatures, become icons of endurance; his hybrid beasts expose the contradictions of authority and the fragility of systems built on control.

The “Animal Works” series extends this universe into a visual allegory where the farm becomes a mirror of society. Through bold color, sharp composition, and a satirical edge, Al Hawajri transforms the animal world into a stage where human conflict, resistance, and resilience unfold. His creatures speak—sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly—about freedom, oppression, and the stubborn hope that persists even in the harshest landscapes. They are ultimately a call for life.

Al Hawajri’s animal farm is not a fantasy; it is a coded language. It allows him to critique, to mourn, and to imagine alternatives, all while grounding his work in the lived reality of Palestine. The result is a body of work that is visually striking, politically charged, and deeply human, even when no humans appear.

Iyad Qanazea Gallery Presents The Emirati Scene

The Emirati Scene brings together a multigenerational group of artists whose work reflects the depth and evolution of creative expression in the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition offers a vivid snapshot of the nation’s artistic landscape—shaped by civic identity, openness, and a confident contemporary vision.

Through painting, sculpture, mixed media, and conceptual practice, the show highlights artists who engage with the UAE as a living civic space, exploring both personal and collective dimensions of belonging.

A central work is Mohammed Al Mazrouei’s Emirati Flag (1996), an expressionist acrylic painting that treats the flag not as a symbol to dissect but as an embodied experience of national identity.

Across the exhibition, abstraction and minimalism appear not as retreats but as ambitious gestures—suggesting that art can hold complexity, speak through restraint, and imagine a forward-looking, self-defined cultural identity.
