Join the Fish Hoek Valley Historical Association this Women's Month to celebrate the women whose history, lives and achievements helped shape the Valley - 13 August 2026 @ 17:00 for 17:30

This slogan emerged from the 1956 Women's March to the Union Buildings and has become the enduring symbol of the courage, resilience and strength of South African women

August is Women's Month, and what better time to celebrate the remarkable women who helped shape the history of the Fish Hoek Valley?

Presented by the Fish Hoek Valley Museum volunteers, "A Smorgasbord of Women" brings together the stories of a fascinating selection of women from our local past. Some were pioneers, some were visionaries, some quietly served their communities, while others left a lasting legacy in unexpected ways. Together, their lives paint a rich and varied picture of the women who contributed to the heritage and character of our valley.
