Fall is a great time to celebrate trees and today's trees are the Tulip Poplars! Native to the United States, the Tulip Poplar or Magnolia is one of the largest and most valuable hardwood lumbers of eastern North America and used for construction. In May, the tree blooms with yellow and orange tulip-shaped flowers and in the fall, the cat-face shaped leaves turn yellow. They grow between 70-200 ft. in height and are used in parks and lawns as shade trees.

Some of the biggest and oldest trees on the Cliveden property are Tulip Poplars. Check them and the Cliveden Arboretum out during your next visit!
