Catalina Anghel is a professional Baker located in Vila-real, Spain.

She bakes since she can remember, with her grandmother and mother but started to be interested by sugar flowers 7 years ago as a therapy for a health problem. At first it was just a hobby, but little by little it turned into a real passion, addiction , and finally a essential part of her life – her full time job.

She loves to make sugar flowers- developed a method of her own,for making free formed flowers (no cutters or templates).
Catalina runs her own online sugar flowers academy and travels the world teaching her sugar flowers method.

Multi awarded sugar artist in different international cake shows and competitions, was one of the 4 finalists of Edible Artists Global Awards (IBE Hong Kong 2016), winner of the Global Sugar Artists Network Rising Star 2018 Award, Finalist Cakes Masters Magazine Sugar Flower Award 2019 aand 2022, D´licious Magazine Sugar Flower artist of the year Winner 2022.
Trained judge was part of the judging team on Welsh National Sugarcraft and Cake Show (February 2019) and several online competitions.

My name is Catalina Anghel and I am one of the founders and administrators of Sugarflowers and cakes in Bloom Facebook group and the person behind World Cancer Day SFCB collaboration.
As every year on these dates our sugar florists community come together again to raise awareness for cancer and what this means, to support and bring some color and joy to the lives of everyone who needs it.
Sugar florists and Cake decorators from all around the world gathered for a worthy cause.
It is the nineth year in a row that we have come together and support the World Cancer Day Organization (https://www.worldcancerday.org/ ) dedicating our time and work to all who suffer or have suffered with this cruel disease, for all who have lost the great battle and have left behind sore families.
For those who won and today have a new opportunity to enjoy life,for all who are still suffering, for the medical staff and for those who work incessantly in search of a cure and for caregivers..
We hope that our work will bring a little joy and open the eyes of those who need to understand what cancer is and they can make the difference also.

Hi I'm Bee Siang, a flower enthusiast, sugar artist, and edible flower tutor from Indonesia.

ABOUT MY WORK:
I named my piece "Over the Rainbow," a celebration of love for my fur baby, Cookies. The color used here is to reflect the rainbow hues and to symbolize the rainbow bridge, where my fur baby lives free from cancer. The sunflower, which is the vocal point in this arrangement, is meant to remind me of how my fur baby loved to soak herself while sunbathing under the morning sun. Then, there is Dahlia to symbolize a lasting bond between two people. And a mother's undying love is represented here by the carnation flower. I made some blue Delphinium to remember loved one who has passed. And as the final touch, I made green Anthurium and Daffodils to represent my belief that somewhere over the rainbow bridge my fur baby lives her new beginning with her robust life.

This is a tribute to her as she loved flowers and I lost her to cancer a few years back 💐 I wish she was still with me to see all that I have achieved as she loved to see my growth in this field.

I miss her a lot so here's a little piece of glimpse of her love for growing flowers in our backyard.

Marc Kevin Eusebio Reyes, also known as Marckevinstyle on social media and YouTube is a multi awarded international Sugar Artist / Chef and Sugar craft Instructor, international Judge for sugar art and pastries, based in Manila Philippines. He is known for his realistic and big floral arrangements in sugar and wedding cake designs.

My love for flower making came back as something positive during the pandemic.
I started 30 years ago with flower making for a couple years and I stopped, during the pandemic I saw some online workshops about flower making and I thought let’s join in.
And my love for flower making was reborn.

I made this piece in honor of my Mum. a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed 10 years ago with Colon cancer and Lung cancer, fortunately 2 different types of cancer and both curable.
And now 10 years later she 85 almost and free of cancer.

But we all know a lot of people suffering or die from this disease, so this is collaboration is for all those people.

This is the forth time that I am participating in this amazing World Cancer Day collaboration organized by Catalina Angel to support everyone who is struggling with this difficult disease.

My inspiration for this year’s work were a lots of soft, pastel colored hand made sugar tulips . This delicate flowers represents new beginnings . They open in spring giving us hope and dreams for a new year .

I am dedicating my work for everyone who is struggling with cancer disease for a new, better and healthier year.

The thirty tulips are also a remembering of the thirty years since my mother disappeared. They were her favorite flowers, so I decided to put all of them on a single cake.

Hend Taha is a sugar artist from Cairo, Egypt. She graduated from the faculty of engineering at Cairo University in 2010 and worked in the structural engineering field. She began cake decorating as a hobby 8 years ago and made it into a business in 2015. Accelerating in 3D sculpting and sculpting realistic cakes from fondant and RKT, sugar & waferpaper flowers. 2020 began as instructor for cake sculpting and edible flowers. Hend is a multi-award winning cake artist, winning third place in AlQaser competition 2017, fourth place in “La Cuisine” competition 2017 and first place in Damietta Egypt 2019. My name is Ileana Zoltani and I am from Romania/Transylvania (Cluj-Napoca City).
Baking was my hobby for a few years. Mostly I am a self-tought but from 3 years I am a certified baker.
I made my first sugar paste figurine almous two years ago and slowly it bekame a passion-obsession-addiction.
I am 55 years old and all my life I’ve been a clerk behind a desk.
At 50 I took a risk and I changed my occupation….never regret it, and today I work as a cake decorator.
I love to make cake toopers and create fantasy characters and flowers.
I also love to create creepy stuff but I create cute characters too, love to paint on cakes….and enjoy every moment of that.

A Cake Designer with a passion for Sugar Flowers. Having trained professionally by Wilton and PME in Dubai which had been my home for almost 35 years. I have been in this field for 16 plus years now and keep upgrading my skills from time to time. Teaching was something that I liked, so confident that I had mastered, what I had learnt, 9 years back, I quit a full time job in 2011 to start teaching Cake decorating and Sugar Flowers. Relocated to Pune India 4 years back but I keep shuttling between Dubai and India. In 2019, I was invited as a Guest Instructor to do a demo at the Deccan Hospitality Show in Pune India. My Collaboration piece for the Cancer Project got featured in the Cake Masters Magazine April 2019 Edition. Also made it to the Top 25 Bakers in the City in 2019.
