Spring is in bloom, as is the gallery, with Verta’s wonderful, colourful hooked rugs ❤️

This is a small selection of what is available at Wishing Stones.
All of Verta’s rugs are hooked with polar fleece and are machine washable.
Once again, Verta’s winter work is impeccable and stunningly beautiful!

If you see something you’d like me to set aside for you, I will mark it for the first person who requests so in the comments.

🌸 I will mark and hold the rugs at the gallery without payment until the end of June, after which I will put the rugs back on the rack to be sold.

🌸 If you come to the gallery to purchase a rug, I accept cash, card or personal cheque.

🌸 Prices shown are what you pay …… no tax charged 🙂

🌸 There may be seconds or thirds of a particular rug on hand, so if one you wish to have is spoken for, please message me and I will check availability.

I’m going to throw a wishing stone for this …

Our island community has been raising funds for a few years for a very important cause. We hope to eventually build a heated building that will house our fire vehicles and allow them to be useable in the winter months.
Winning this prize would get us closer to that goal ❤️

Serving a close-knit community of just over 150 full-time residents on an island in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, the Big Tancook Island Emergency Response Association is made up of 26 dedicated volunteers who provide both fire protection and medical first response. Accessible only by ferry, our island depends on teamwork, commitment, and community spirit — values our members live by every day. This photo captures the pride and camaraderie that define our department and the strength of the small community we’re proud to serve.

For the first time in too many weeks we are getting some desperately needed rain ❤️
For the first time in 17 years I am happy to hear the sound of rain on the gallery roof ❤️

Please let the rain come down steady all day and all night and please may it knock back the wildfires burning up our province and replenish our wells ❤️

Hi everybody.
I will be off-island for the day tomorrow (Aug. 23rd) so Wishing Stones will not be open.
I will be home on the morning ferry Sunday, the 24th, and I will open the gallery around 11:30 am.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone who spoke for a rug in May and has not yet sent payment …

❤️I hold the rugs for one month without payment, after which they go back on the rack to be sold to someone else. The month is up now, so watch for a private message from Wishing Stones.
