Our very own Mastermind Champion Leslie Grout will be giving a fascinating talk about The Secrets of Cranbourne Tower on 13th September at Windsor Guildhall.

Cranbourne Tower is the last remaining part of Cranbourne Lodge in Windsor Great Park. This Grade II listed building, which dates from the 13th century, has an exciting history as the residence of royals and of royal favourites.

Leslie Grout is an engaging and knowledgeable speaker and his talks are always enjoyable. The event is on 13th September 2022 at 7.30 at Windsor Guildhall, doors open at 6.30 to give you a chance to look around the museum.

Our Story

The Friends 0f the Windsor and Royal Borough Museum campaigned for over 25 years for a museum in Windsor for and about the people and town of Windsor. Through tireless lobbying and fundraising Windsor was granted a museum in 2010.

The Museum opened to the public on Saturday 12th March 2011 at 12 noon, and was officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen on Friday, 9th December 2011. The Museum is currently closed because of the corona virus pandemic
