Let’s take a moment to appreciate the sheer audacity of these hieroglyphs, dating back to around 1186-1156 BC. They are the rebellious echoes of the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu, boldly situated on the western bank of Luxor, Egypt. These aren’t just any carvings; they’re a direct portal into the opulence and power-hungry reign of Ramesses III, revealing his relentless ambitions and the rich tapestry of ancient Egyptian religion and culture. It's a riot of history that demands your attention!

The 16ft-tall hyper-realistic bird by artist Iván Argote will perch atop the Tenth Avenue plinth on the city’s famed High Line come October.

National Park Painting Series... I am working on a digital mock up for a new painting near Canyonlands National Park, of "Dead Horse Point" which is actually in a State Park that overlooks much of the National Park.

An idea for a future art series…

There’s more to Arches than arches! Our trip to Moab has inspired me to think about doing a series of National Park paintings… good idea?
Michael Stark? … maybe others… I could use some of your photos as well as some of my own…

What’s next? Times of transition are never easy but can be opportunities for growth… some reflections!

"Way will open," were the words given to Parker Palmer at a Quaker meeting. At the meeting the only real reason he could think of for becoming a college president was, "I think I want a picture in the paper with my title and name under it." He eventually found a different "way" to make a difference....

Aspens in Abstraction
Date: Oct 4th - Oct 28th
Artist Reception: Saturday Oct 8th, 4 - 6 pm

These pieces represent the memory of the movement of each leaf on the aspen tree in the autumn. The aspen grove on the hills outside of Santa Fe are iconic to the area.
The leaves change daily and fall fast to the ground. All that’s left is a memory of the bright yellow against the blue skies as the snow is in the future. As a young girl in Colorado, my love for the color and movement of the aspens grew and that memory is ever present. I hope you enjoy these pieces and share with me the "Aspens in Abstraction".

Coming Soon to the Gallery.....
"The Dawns' Early Light" ,a misty sunrise, Chimney Rock at Ghost Ranch is almost done. Probably my favorite painting of Georgia O'Keefe's front yard. I used a photo I took, some public domain images, vivid memories and previous paintings as reference for this 30xx40 acrylic on panel. I see this as a reminder of the durability of the important things in life: Love, Beauty, Spirit, and the "withness" of all things in the heavens and earth. Light itself has traveled millions of miles to let us see this and bring use energy for the new day.

Our dramatic landscape are best felt in the presence of larger paintings. "Sandia Sunset is nearing complete at the gallery. It's the largest single panel painting I've done, 3x5' Acrylic on Panel. I do like the feel!
