Works in progress - yes I am busy creating ! ✍🏻
Although Fine art is indeed a slow process that requires patience, attention to detail, and a significant amount of time and effort.
Personally, I consider Fine Art Ink drawings to be the epitome of art that I produce. Despite being frequently asked if I produce ink drawings as finished pieces, I have yet to do so because they are such a labour of love 😅
However, I believe that the end result will be worth the effort. My goal is to capture the beauty and intricacy of these native New Zealand Flora & Fauna through my ink drawings.
I'm excited to be working on this new series and can't wait to share my progress with you all.
Watch this space for updates and sneak peeks of my work in progress. I hope that my drawings will inspire others to appreciate the natural world and the unique beauty of New Zealand's native species.

SOLD ☺️from Lava Glass Gallery.
Very happy knowing this beautiful Kea will be hanging in a new home, but a little bit sad not knowing where he/she/them/they are . I think most artists probably feel a little part of themselves will always be within the painting.The fern that is in the background of this painting is in my garden. I can see it from my studio window. ( I just had a image of Claude Monet wondering what he would have thought of painting a fern tree😬😅)

How long does a painting take? I'm often asked that question and I'm never quite sure how to answer. From the concept, gathering information, sketching, preparing the canvas and then finally painting - you probably don't want to know 😅all I can say is it is a journey and I probably speak for many Artists out there, it is a labour of love😅👩‍🎨✍️🚗🗻🖼 This is a Oil painting of a South Island River in NZ called the Waimakariri River. The river flows from the Southern Alps across the Canterbury Plains to the Pacific Ocean passing through a belt of Mountains, forced through a narrow Canon before reverting to its braided appearance across the Canterbury Plains. This painting is only a snippet of this magnificent river, it ismy way of sharing the way I experienced this wonderful landscape. Footnote : Top photo taken at Lake Pukaki SI NZ while travelling around the South Island.

The iconic Kea - A Native NZ Bird. I have visited and photographed Kea many times in Wellington and other Native Bird Sanctuaries in NZ but when it came to painting the background I only had to look out the window of my Art Studio as I over look a Native Gully and I have a King Fern outside my window. Just a wee bit of imagination&visualisation and my Kea was teleported to a perfect habitat and camouflaged in the greenery. The painting is on display . My Exhibition continues during January and into early February.

This is an Oil painting of a beautiful Kotuku (White Heron) on display My Exhibition continues during January and into early February.Travel plans to visit were disrupted over the last couple of years, however I contacted the Sanctuary directly and they kindly gave me permission to use an image of a Kotuku from their website. ( although I have added a few touches of artistic license in this painting .) 🐦👩‍🎨 I will be posting a reel of this painting as a work in progress 😜

When you're driving through the South Island of New Zealand, it's not uncommon to see a magical scene like this 😍

And if you're lucky enough to be in that moment and have your camera ready, take a picture!

It could inspire a painting - like this one, "Waiau Uwha River - South Island" which sold from Lava Glass Gallery.

I took a photo as inspiration for this oil painting out of the car window as we drove over a bridge across the Waiau Uwha River.

The sun was setting and the light reflecting in the river was quite magical ✨
