As a baseball fan, I'm so very happy to hear that MLB has decided to recognize the statistical accomplishments of the players who performed in the Negro Leagues as a permanent and official part of the MLB database. Bringing to light the amazing talent of so many black baseball players who never had the opportunity to play in the integrated major leagues is appropriate. I'm getting the tent ready for another Art Festival! The Spring Allen Arts Festival returns to Watters Creek in Allen, Texas!
The festival features an outstanding group of juried artists, showcasing original art in different media categories. Live entertainment, children’s art activities, and much more is offered throughout the weekend. Friday, May 10th: 4 pm – 8 pm, Saturday, May 11th: 10 am – 8 pm, Sunday, May 12th: Noon – 6 pm. A very Special Commissioned Painting! Erik Price served the Pac-12 for over 20 years as associate commissioner for compliance, governance and student-athlete engagement, having joined the Conference in November 2002. Erik also served as the Conference's liaison to the Pac-12 Band, Spirit Directors, and mascots for all Men's and Women's Basketball Championships as well as the Conference Championship Football game. This is no easy task to deal with such a large group of different personalities and expectations from different parts of the conference, yet Erik did it with passion, respect, and love for the conference. In 2022/2023, it was announced of a conference realignment making the 2023-2024 season the last year for these championships with all 12 schools.

The Spirit Directors wanted to find a way to honor Erik and all that he had given to us over the years but we were unsure on how to do it the right way. As we wrapped up our last ever year as a conference, we knew the last time we would all be together was the Pac-12 Basketball Championship in Las Vegas, NV in March of 2024 so we wanted to do something for Erik there. In November I happened to stumble across the original Pac-12 Conference painting that Tom Jordan created of all the Pac-12 mascots at a beach party and knew that Erik would LOVE it as it was as eccentric as him.

I reached out to Tom to see if there was a possibility to recreate the painting with Erik in it. Not only was he happy to help us he made the process so fun, he helped us find way to really make it one of a kind. Erik was given the nickname of mascot "Wrangler" due to many instances of coordinating with all of them at the various events that we had. If you have ever been around college mascots you will notice they kind of do whatever they want and Erik saw this part of his role as a challenge that he so graciously accepted and thrived. Tom made sure to include "wrangler" as well as his other nickname “EP”. On top of those special touches, Tom even painted Erik in his favorite Pac-12 tie-dye shirt. We are so grateful that Tom took on the challenge to help us honor Erik Price in a way that he would cherish forever. Erik was absolutely speechless and overwhelmed with emotion when the time came for us to present him with his painting, a moment I and all of the Pac-12 Spirit Directors will remember forever. Within minutes of Erik being back home in California, I received a text with a picture of the painting already hanging on his wall. You could say he loved it!

I have completed my tribute painting to the MLB Champions, Texas Rangers. The Rangers have made nine appearances in the MLB postseason, seven following division championships. In 2023, the Rangers earned a trip to the World Series and won their first-ever MLB championship. I'm working on my painting to celebrate the Rangers 2023 World Series Championship. Working to have this painting completed and available for the Spring Show Schedule. I have selected twelve players from the championship team to be added to my Rangers Ultimate Tribute painting. The players selected are as follows:

Awfully busy here in the TJG Studio. All the NCAA Conference realignments require me to go back and repaint (yes, I said repaint), my ACC, Big10 and Big12 Tribute paintings. Iv'e put a lot of work into updating these conference tribute paintings already and still have a lot of work to do yet. Thomas Jordan Gallery Birthday Happiness. "I just love these."-- Hey Tom, Shawn, Nick and myself have been friends for almost 45 years and all are celebrating our 50th birthdays this year. I wanted to get them something meaningful and unique for our special birthday. Your paintings represent a special time, favorite team and/or a favorite hobby in a unique way. My buddy Shawn is an avid golfer and I knew he would love the golf ball painting with many of the bucket list golf courses that we all want to play. And Nick is a diehard Buckeye fan as am I so the Buckeye painting was perfect for him. Now what would be perfect for all three of us is an All Cleveland Sports painting that highlights the World Champion Cavs, Browns and Indians. So we are waiting patiently for this Tom….Hint Hint😀
