Tomorrow is the day of the sale.
As we say. Cash is king! So if you need money, Tarland toy shop and post office can provide hard cash, or you can get cash back at the Paper shop. We can take card payments as well. So no worries if you can’t get cash. There are a pair of lovely ladies with a card machine at the door.
See you there for some beautiful art work for you to gift, or treat yourself.

Our last featured artist in our run up to our Xmas Pop Up on Saturday is Frances Dennerly.
She gave us this wee snippet of her ethos.

‘I love working from my surroundings and have always been in awe of, and utterly inspired by, nature.

I usually work in water colour, pastel and inks but have lately been experimenting with mixed media and resist techniques, leaning in to a loss of control, resulting in a freer image.

Through intense focus and engagement with my subject, I hope my work expresses the joy and energy of constant changes in nature through colour, light and texture.’

Come on along to Tarland. We have lots of work to delight and wow you. As well as France’s mixed media we will also have……collage, watercolour, inks, acrylic, ceramics, textiles, glass, knitwear, photography, books, you name it, we should have it. Purchase straight from the artist.

It’s going to be fabulous. 😱

COUNT DOWN HAS BEGUN! 🎄🖼️
one week till our Xmas pop up.
This time next week will be a flurry of activity in Tarland. Artists will be setting up and getting ready to welcome you all to our sale in the Hall.
We can’t wait to see you all.

We have a couple more artists to feature before the sale comes.

Today we have Debbie Wyness

Debbie will be exhibiting alongside Charlotte Ross. They make a fabulous team.
Debbie likes to try different media but for the show she wil be exhibiting her needlefelting.

‘I've been experimenting making wool pictures, using needlefelting technique. Pictures are made with a variety of wools for different textures including Shetland wool and 100% merino wool.’

Charlotte has also been busy and has sent me a pic of her latest pastel.
You’ll all soon be able to see everything in real life.

Just over a week to go folks!!! Next Saturday (7th December) Tarland will be the place to be.
Creative Cromar will be holding its annual Xmas Pop-Up sale in The MacRobert Hall, Tarland.. Local artists selling their work straight to you.
You will have cash or card options and if you land at the right time, we also have a fabulous ‘soup n scone’ lunch, available 12-2.

Brrrrrrrrtr, by eck! That’s been a fair old day of frost!!! 🥶🥶🥶🥶
We’ll be able to warm you up from the inside out in December, if it’s still on the cold side on the 7th!
We are going to have an absolutely delectable display of soups,
All flavours of soups, scones, oatcakes… you name it we’ll probably have a ‘wee sup’ to tickle your taste buds.
So far…
Sweet potato & carrot
Leek and tattie
Chicken broth
Pumpkin and apple
Pork and lentil
I’ll ‘release’ the rest of the flavours next week! Some fabulous kinds o soup still to come….
Along with cheese scones, plain scones and oatcakes. There will be vegan, gf and veggie options.
Served 12-2 , for £4 a portion.
Bring cash for your soup if you can folks.

Jane Milloy
Jane is an amazing illustrator and watercolourist, with forays into acrylic too. She creates THE most fabulous paintings of wildlife of all kinds, an amazing eye for detail and colour. Truly beautiful. Tarland Art Group also benfits from Jane, as she is one of our regular tutors always giving meticulous advice and instruction. She also hosts her own classes, teaching all abilities. Below we have a selection of some of Jane’s previous works, to find out what new pieces she’s bringing you’ll have to pop along to the show. You won’t be disappointed……. 😍👌

Mary Welfare.
Mary will also be joining us in December. She is an abstract artist, but also creates sculpture in papier mache. Inspiration for her paintings is taken from The Howe itself. She sent me a wee story of her journey with painting in Coull. Her work is instantly recognisable, as her style is so unique. You may have been in by Mary and Simon at ‘The Craa’ Widdy’ where they open their studio in September for NEOS.

‘Mary is a founder member of Creative Cromar and has opened her studio for NEOS for many years. She takes her inspiration from the landscape of the Howe but has her own particular style.’

Come to Tarland and enjoy this unique chance to see so many local artists under one roof in The MacRobert Hall.

Tonight we have Alastair Scott. Alastair is an adventurer, writer, artist and world traveller, hiking and cycling the globe in his kilt! With a great love of history and Scotland, Alastair will be bringing along some photographs from his travels and copies of his books.
Another local , Alastair won’t have to travel far to join us, as Coull is his home. He is an active member of the Tarland Art Group. Come along and meet him on the 7th at our Pop-up.

Charlotte Ross, is another of our local artists. Charlotte loves diversity of media and the challenge of new techniques, regularly giving us outstanding pictures in all styles. She has recently started her framing business and has set up her workshop, here, in Tarland. Shes been flat oot framing a lot of our local artist’s pieces for our pop-up in December whilst beavering away at her own Art.
Here are a few of her latest pieces, with some more new pieces in the pipeline for coming weeks, I can’t wait to see this new technique when it’s finished…. No more clues to what it is.. 😬
