This 400-acre lagoon is home to a wide array of flora and fauna and invites us to appreciate our water resources through such uses as a YMCA day camp, recreational boating, a mussel and oyster aquaculture facility, a white-sea bass hatchery, and a power generating plant. It connects us to a greater world in so many ways. Come join the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation in our work to preserve and protect this valuable resource.

🌎 Earth Day Impact! 🌿

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers from Target, , , and our amazing community members who showed up and worked hard to make a difference! Together, we planted native plants across the Discovery Campus, removed invasive species, spread mulch, pulled weeds, and so much more.

We’re especially grateful to the and for donating native plants, which were shared with volunteers and Discovery Campus guests to help them start their own native gardens at home.

To celebrate Earth Week, Jimbo’s is raising funds for the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation! Your donation will support various educational programs offered at the Lagoon.

Located in Carlsbad, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon is a 400-acre lagoon home to a wide array of flora and fauna. In addition to their educational programs, the lagoon invited you to appreciate their water resources through such uses as a YMCA day camp, recreational boating, a mussel and oyster aquaculture facility, a White Sea Bass hatchery, and a desalination plant. It connects us to a greater world in so many ways!

International Bird Rescue recently shared a helpful post explaining why this may be happening and what to do if you encounter affected wildlife. We’ve adapted their guidance slightly for our community:
