Sasha Kurmaz at U–jazdowski
Last autumn, we had a great pleasure of hosting Sasha Kurmaz, interdisciplinary Ukrainian artist, the winner of Kazimir Malevich Artist Award 2020. In his artistic practice, Kurmaz studies various models of interaction with public space, social groups and communities as well as explores the changing relationship between human beings and the modern world. During his residency at U–jazdowski, he worked on a photo book on the subject of a dialogue between artists.

Paul Hutzli at U–jazdowski
Last year, we had a great pleasure of hosting Paul Hutzli, Swiss artist who uses various media – drawing, painting, installation and performance art.
During his residency at U–jazdowski he researched the subject of the carnivalesque and carnival, as well as the connection between aesthetics and politics.

Grayson Earle at U–jazdowski
Grayson Earle is one of our last year's residents. Earle is a new media artist and educator. He is interested in the specificity of the Internet , artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. He works at the interface between activism and art.

Fleur Roggeman at U–jazdowski
Last year, we had a great pleasure of hosting Fleur Roggeman, Belgian visual artist, scenographer and founder of a music and art festival called "Nectar".
During her residency at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, she created, among other projects, an interactive installation that could be seen during the Flanders Days.

Nadia Elamly at U–jazdowski
Last year, we had a great pleasure of hosting Nadia Elamly, a Swiss artist, curator and feminist activist from Lausanne.
During her residency at the U–jazdowski, she met a group of dancers who inspired her to create a film in which Elamly tries to redefine the concept of a family – the one connected by dance that redefines public space and creates an unexpected community open to everyone.

Last spring and summer we had a pleasure of hosting Amy Pekal, Netherlands-based artist and researcher who examines how dominant ideologies shape western culture’s understanding of the natural world.

Throughout October 2020, the 8th edition of the international Re–Directing: East x Empathic Pedagogies."Future Intimacies" seminar and residencies took place. Dani Ploeger on a residency at U–jazdowski
Dani Ploeger is a musician, performer, lecturer, and researcher. During his residency at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art he continued his project on the subject of borders in Europe, the use of technology, and body empowerment in the context of international security.
Ivan Svitlichnyi on a residency at U–jazdowski
Ivan Svitlichnyi is a sculptor and performer from Kharkov, the winner of the Kazimir Malevich Artistic Award 2018, awarded every two years to artists from Ukraine who break stereotypes in contemporary art.
During his residence in Warsaw from January 2020, he has been working on developing the Shukhliada project, which he began in 2013 with friends, Lera Polianskova and Max Robotov. Shukhliada is an online exhibition space, a support platform for independent art projects. Conceived as a grassroots, anti-institutional activity, it allows for independent presentation of the work of Ukrainian artists.
