Te Maru roa a Raumati
Huna, Ariroa, Mawharu
Raumati.
The Maramataka is above and separate to the planet but the moon is still affected by the events on the earth by the effects of the sun. We are all connected, as taught to us by our tupuna.
The need to share and utilise indigenous knowledge to protect the environment has never been more important than now.
The effects of the modern world upon the environment has been discussed for generations since the industrial age began.
A mixture of old and young perspectives will be needed to reverse the damage.
Older generation have local tribal knowledge passed down by hand to their children to practise.
Young people have the attitude to practise those old tribal "tapu" methods to restore balance.
Politics is causing a major disruption in the solution finding process and the Millenials attitude is a brave, no time for games persona that I like. They are changing the world and I am tentatively supporting their changes.
The world through technology is too small to ignore the issues, or blame it on others, or persecute others when the ego or beliefs disrupt the solution.
Environmental management is not a spectators sport. This is something we all, every single one of us has to face.
The devastating affect the world is facing is no longer a debate.
What we do about it is fast running out too.
