I want to demonstrate Indigenous solidarity with Palestinians who are facing genocide. Thousands have lost their lives, and almost 2 million have been displaced. I have seen so many disturbing images and videos that I will never forget, which is nothing compared to what those on the ground are experiencing. My heart is with them. I am creating stickers that are available for preorder on my website now. 100% of the proceeds will go to a Gazan family’s GoFundMe from Operation Olive Branch. This is a tangible way to make a difference and actively assist these families in finding safety. I appreciate any shares to spread the word. Here is the first family I am raising funds for. If they meet their goal, I will find another one. Ahmed’s wife is currently pregnant and needs a C-section. Let’s help this family in honor of Mother’s Day. Thank you! 🇵🇸🪶❤️ Links In Bio:

Day 10 of 10 day art challenge! I was nominated by Water Bird Arts to share a piece of my work each day for 10 days! It’s as good as a time as any to share some past creations as I have new followers and will be busy working on a book, so I won’t have as many new pieces coming out. 😊🩵

For Day 10, I'm sharing this 5x7 acrylic painting of a possum that sold at the Oklahoma archaeological conference! Prints are available for pre-order (to be shipped out within two weeks) at https://www.maryluptonart.com/product-page/siqua-utseisdi-print for $15! 😊

I'll be nominating another artist each day. If you're nominated and want to join, I'm excited to see your work! If not, no worries—it's still a shout-out for being a fantastic artist. (And I might nominate someone already nominated by someone else, haha.) I encourage my followers to check out the art of the artist I highlight each day! For the last day, I nominate Andrea Savar! I loved seeing her beautiful bandolier bag at the Trail of Tears Art Show and she’s a great illustrator too! 👏🏼❤️ https://trailoftearsartshow.com/products/anidawi-bandolier-bag-by-andrea-savar/

On Day 4, I'm sharing a digital artwork I completed a year ago (2023) titled "Ani Ageyv (Strawberry Woman)." This piece is a portrait of my mother, and every year around Mother’s Day, I create a dedicated piece. Strawberries are her favorite fruit. 🍓❤️

For Day 3, here is a 36”x24” acrylic painting titled “Roaming Wilderness,” completed in early 2022. This piece wasn’t planned; I just started painting and allowed it all to flow together. One of my favorite places to go growing up was the Wichita Mountains and seeing the bison that roamed out there. Those memories are what came through for me in this painting. It is available! The top picture was recently taken since touch ups were made in December 2023.

It’s as good as a time as any to share some past creations as I have new followers and will be busy working on a book, so I won’t have as many new pieces coming out. 😊🩵

For Day 1, here is one of my most prized pieces, 'First Fire,' completed in November 2022. It is a 24”x36” acrylic and gold leaf on canvas and has won two awards: People’s Choice for the 52nd Trail of Tears Art Show in 2023 and 2nd Place in Paintings at the Cherokee National Holiday Art Show. This piece depicts the Cherokee legend of the creation of the first fire, a tale that demonstrates how even the tiniest creatures can display courage and wit despite, more seemingly capable creature’s doubt. Thanks to the water spider, the world was no longer cold and dark for the other creatures. 🧡🔥🕷️

You can vote for "A Hunter's Prayer" by clicking on the original post and giving it a "like" (you can give any reaction though; it will count). You also don't have to vote for my piece either; there are so many amazing works here. It's a tough choice. Thankfully, on the social media vote, you can vote for more than one! So give some love to your favorite pieces through May 11! 😊

I have some pictures from IPX. It was a gratifying experience. If you stopped by my booth at any point & had a chat with me, then a big WADO to you! I truly appreciated everyone I spoke with. If you had known me well for most of my life, you’d know I have been very introverted & reserved. I feel much more open now. There has been a positive shift in that part of myself that I cannot deny. 🤩🖖🏼💥

1: I visited the Inchunwa booth, where I met Lisa. She was fantastic & used some temporary tattoo markers so I could visualize how traditional markings would look on my fingers. Even though it was temporary, I felt good with them. The panel by Inchunwa was also very informative, & I recommend listening to the recorded version when it comes out. ✍️🖐🏼❤️

2: I finally acquired an original Roy Boney piece featuring Worf sporting some Southeastern apparel, exuding sheer coolness. I knew this was meant to be mine! 🥹

3: I had some amazing booth neighbors, Brian & Susan, at the show. It is always a pleasure to see them! Got a pair of lovely, delicate blue earrings from Susan. I also traded art with Brian - I adore his inkwork & style! 🩵

4: I met one of the kindest souls ever, Sol. We had an excellent conversation filled with positive energy. They purchased a Luna Moth bookmark from me & even sent a photo of the perfect book to go with it. 🫶🏼💖

5: I received this book from Tvli Jacobs, & I can’t wait to dive in. I want to break into the world of comics. 🤩💥

6: I was occupied at the Inchunwa panel, but my mother got to meet Muriel Fahrion. She’s such a lovely lady! I asked my mom to give her a print of my artwork, Ani Ageyv (Strawberry Woman). Muriel loved it & is going to display it in her small studio. 🍓🍰🩷❤️

7: It was so nice to meet Don, who sported many cool costumes, like this Dino one! 😎🦖

8: I got to see my good friend Aubrey. We used to work together years ago & are just so grateful to be connected in this way now.💖🪶

9: My amazing mother, Tresa, helping me with my booth! We have such a wonderful time together at shows. Osda etsi! ❤️❤️

10: Thursday evening at an art show reception after booth set up. Amazing people here who do amazing things! 😊🙌🏼

The Cherokee Nation artist Mary Lupton has been exploring and experimenting with art for as long as she can remember. She creates unique and vibrant art using acrylics on canvas or digitally with her iPad and the Procreate app. Mary draws inspiration from nature, dreams, life experiences, and her Cherokee heritage. She pursued her passion for art after completing her multidisciplinary studies degree and a minor in electrical engineering at the University of Oklahoma. Mary’s art aims to merge contemporary with surrealism, evoke emotions, and encourage others to embrace and honor their cultural identities.

Get this dreamy fairy exclusively at ( .famok)! 🧚‍♀️✨🌸🤩💥

When I was 5 years old, I started to fold sheets of paper in half and bind them into a book with a stapler. I would then write and draw little stories about fairies that I imagined. 🧚‍♀️ Fairies used to be one of my favorite things to draw or have as imaginary friends. It’s what eventually earned me the nickname “Mary Fairy” haha. Anyway, this piece is a manifestation of one of those first fairies I would write about. I was 5, so her name was “Pink Petal”. 😂
