Selu & Kanadi 🌽🏹❤️

I recently asked for some suggestions of plants I could draw for my digital art portfolio, and got over 50 suggestions! I’ve been randomly choosing from the list. The 5th one I got is “selu” or “corn” in Cherokee. So I decided to illustrate Selu (Corn Woman) and Kanadi (The Lucky One). I had a project I had started and almost finished a while back of them, but it did not turn out the way I wanted, so it feels good to come back and finish this idea!

WIP 🚧 Revised sketch, line work, and base color for the two characters!

W.I.P. 🚧 Last week, I asked for some suggestions of plants I could draw for my digital art portfolio and got over 50 suggestions! I've been randomly choosing from the list and have illustrated 4 so far. The 5th one I got is “selu” or “corn” in Cherokee. 🌽This is a good time to revive an idea for a piece I had a while back that took a bad turn. I wanted to draw Kanadi (Lucky One) and Selu (First Woman). I had almost finished a drawing of them, but made a big permanent mistake at the very end! 😭 I put the drawing away and decided to take a break from the idea for a while. Now I'm in the early stages of a new drawing in Procreate! ✍️🧐

Monarch Fairy leading Monarch Butterflies to some Butterfly Milkweed! 🧡 I’m not sure what I was doing with the dress, but I still love her! Also, my vision got blurry when I was signing it. That typically happens when I’ve been working too long haha. 😆

Here are some screenshots of my WIP of my recent "Sadsafras" illustration. You can see how I start with a simple rough sketch and then build up the details from there. I tend to work in many layers! 🍺🌿

SASSafras Rootbeer! 🍺🫚🌳🌿 Asked on Facebook and my Instagram story for some suggestions of plants I could draw for my digital art portfolio, and got a lot of great suggestions back. Randomly chosen from the list, my third one was Sassafras! I will need to stop there for now on creating digital illustrations of plants for my portfolio, but I’m keeping the list, and I will do more later until I’ve completed it!

Completed the second illustration for my digitally painted (Procreate) plant portfolio! I chose at random from my list of suggested plants and got “wild potato”. 🥔🌿

I started with passion flower for my first plant in my series of digitally illustrated (Procreate) plants for my portfolio. Now it's time to randomly choose the next plant from my list. I'm grateful to those who contributed to that list! 😊
