Heritage Open Days 2026

Wisbech & Fenland Museum will be open free of charge on Saturday 12 September in support of this year’s Heritage Open Days Festival.

This is a great opportunity to explore our latest temporary exhibition, ‘Curiosity to Collection: Townshend’s Legacy’ and to view Charles Dickens’ manuscript of ‘Great Expectations.’

A number of other local venues are also taking part in the festival this year, including St. Peter and St. Paul Church, and Peckover House & Garden, National Trust

Wisbech Gallery launch their 2026 Open exhibition on Saturday 12 September too, so it’s a great day to explore Wisbech’s many arts and culture assets completely free-of-charge.

This week the Wisbech Gallery Open 2026 Judging Panel met to consider artworks for display in this year's exhibition, as always the day was filled with challenging discussions and incredible artworks 🎨 We'd like to say thank you to Eves, Sandra Ferreira Ferry Project, Aimi Rowe Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery, and Tim Mann Artist for taking the time to be a part of this year's Panel!

Thank you to all who submitted artworks for consideration this year - all application updates have now been sent, so be sure to check your email inbox for an update on your submission.

Finally, we're excited to share the Open 2026 will be launching on Saturday 12th September (12pm-3pm), be sure to join us for what is bound to be an exciting show! 💫

Thank you to everyone who visited the Gallery on Thursday for Eves' Conversation With The Artist! 🖌

The evening was filled with energised conversations about working as an artist, managing expectations and inspiration, and building community. This was an incredible evening for both new and established artists to learn from a new perspective.
