Something wonderful happens when you're able to explore an artist's body of work. You get to see them explore different themes, mediums, and styles. Art continues to share its messages long after an artist is gone. This simple woodblock print by Alfred Morang is a minimalist version of his landscapes, pared down to only the most necessary lines. A door is one of the most mundane and at once enigmatic items in our lives. A door offers opportunities, and barriers. They see loved ones enter our lives, and leave. When we look closer we see they can have as much personality as an old friend. They convey a building's history and purpose. Newly painted, chipped, rough and shuttered, or cracked open to invite you in. When admiring this painting by Peter Evans, one cannot help but wonder, where does this door lead?
