SHORT BIO

Peach Lopez is an abstract surrealist artist who is slowly being known for her vivid use of color and mesmerizing abstract portraits. Her work transforms traditional portraiture, layering expressive hues and fluid forms to capture emotions beyond the visible. With each piece, Peach invites viewers into a surreal world that reimagines identity and emotion, using bold strokes and colors, pushing the boundaries of perception.

Her exhibits have become a journey through the psyche, with each piece inviting the viewer to challenge their own interpretation of her creations.

ART STATEMENT

"The First-Born" delves into the duality of being the eldest child, a role layered with both pride and sacrifice. This painting presents a striking juxtaposition, where darker, warm, and striking hues symbolize qualities like resilience, leadership, and the often-celebrated strength of the first-born, which sometimes is misconstrued as hardness and darkness of its persona. In contrast, lighter, more subdued colors embody the —the unspoken weakness and soft-heartedness that the early maturity had to set aside because of the responsibilities. It also shows that despite the highlighted strength and hardness, there's still kindness on the other side.

Through abstract forms and contrasting tones, "The First-Born" captures the multifaceted experience of carrying family expectations, showing both the admiration and the weight that accompany this role. The painting invites viewers to see beyond the surface, reflecting on the balance of joy and struggle, as well as the unseen layers that define the eldest child's journey.

There is only one thing that's stopping you from creating your masterpiece --- the limit to your imagination.

There are sporadic moments that an idea for a painting pops and most of the time, I don't have my sketchpad with me and I know I have to sketch it otherwise I'll most likely forget the deets of the idea. So.

These are just some of the works I made that was on commission, on exhibit, or a personal project.

The bag is a commission piece (not yet available in the market) for an online luxury bag company owner based in New York (I think photo was taken in Brooklyn).

I've made plenty and I still have to make mooooreee!

I just finished a commission piece (a new version of the Unconditional Us series) for a chef and will be sent to New York this month.

I have a new exhibit coming up this end of the year, please standby. 🥰

I'm currently in the US but will be back soon! So, if you appreciate my art and you want to have one of my pieces, please contact my manager Rams David or Artist Circle 🫶

This particular piece is one of the two pieces I submitted in the Kafka Exhibit with the Steampunk Indio collective.

This is a bit different from my usual pieces because I wanted to show the socio-political aspect of the painting. This is,

One quiet night of March, as I always do, I stared at the white blank ceiling of my room thinking of something new to create.

I wanted something personal, something close to my heart. A masterpiece for the Pride Month.

I scanned through my head my past, present, and possible future. Then an idea lit.

From the shadows, this idea slowly emerged. From the dark crevices, it slowly revealed:

This is a story of an enigmatic and withdrawn woman who slowly discovered how beautiful the colors of the rainbow are. An amalgation of the classic and the modern, a fusion of 2 people starkly different yet was able to bond and turn into something that may possibly be the future's beautiful, mysterious masterpiece.

A symbolism of an empowered woman's weakness in the midst of her strength.

This painting is on exhibit at the Lucky Chinatown Hotel, Binondo Manila.

Once in a while, I am invited to speak to an audience. Ironically, I kinda have that certain fear of speaking in front of a crowd. I don't really like it. I prefer to be on the sidelines, watching, supporting.

But life has its weird sense of humor, I'm always placed in a position that I can't say no to (usually when it's about helping the youth or helping others), so I frequently find myself standing in front of listening ears.

This is one of those moments. This year, I was once again placed in an auditorium-full of young people in Miriam College, ready and excited to hear something new. Every time this happens, I get the jitters, and I question myself if I know enough for the kids to be able to learn. But when I stand in front of them and see their eyes, their smiles, and their excitement to learn, I just silently pray to God to give me wisdom and the right words to say. Lol.

Oh, and I'm bulol, hence, the kaba hehe.

This is not going to be the last because this is still a part of why I do my art. I am not an expert, I just love to create, to make an art that I myself will love. It's just a bonus when others appreciate it, and learn from it, too. ❤️

It's one of my most favorite paintings to date.

The client is my most loyal, number one supporter of my art. This piece is very special to me as this is the very first piece she had me commission for her.

This painting is a story of a nurturer who's full of love and joy. I titled this:

The client, an owner of one of the biggest resorts in Batangas, wanted a commissioned painting to be placed in one of the walls of her resort, so she asked me to do one for her with the elements she wanted.

This painting is one part of my 2-painting contribution to the Kafka: Steampunk Indio Exhibit ongoing in Sentro Leona Gallery, Marikina.

The exhibit's theme is Franz Kafka's stories/dreams. We had to make 2. One should show Kafka's story in our own style with a steampunk feel. The other one should show our own dream/nightmare also incorporating steampunk elements.

Kafka was a dark absurdist. He's a literary abstract surrealist, I am a visual abstract surrealist, so it wasn't that hard for me to resonate.

However, the similarity ends there. He was dark, I'm on the opposite -- light, colorful, positive.

I chose his "Clothes" story but turned it around. I had to show Kafka that his or his society's view of women is different now. Hence,
