In 2000, the New York-based artist, Julie Harvey, created a monumental mural painting celebrating the history and the future of New York City. Representing freedom, equality, commerce, and hard work. However, 22 years of wear and tear and the 9/11 attack, left marks on the beautiful art. Herr Gallery, in collaboration with Mrs. Harvey, generated a creative solution that utilizes blockchain technology to help and restore the public mural.
1. A digital version of Liberty Mural is divided into 486 pieces, following the compositional gird of the original painting.
2. Each piece is turned into a unique NFT - which can be purchased on Herrgallery.com.
3. All proceeds will be used towards the restoration of the damaged mural!
The 486 editions of the Liberty Mural NFTs will become the tokens that commemorate the contributions made by the project’s participants for the preservation of the art work. This collection of NFTs and a restored mural installed at 59 Maiden Lane will bear testimony to that remarkable effort.
